- Mike2 contributionsWeather and food good. Public transport, although times posted on bus stops its advised to speak to locals or people who have used them regularly, because all times are same depending on what stop you are at, tickets are cheap €2:20 per ticket. We rented bikes as we stayed at Fili apartments, approx 2 miles from Tigaki Road flat and plenty of bike racks to park in. A definite must for a beach day is Vangelis beach, brilliant area rental of brollies etc is sublime, the owner has built everything himself with recycling paramount, I would highly recommend a day visit. We did a day trip by ferry to Turkey for a day, very busy on market days. We also did a guided bus tour to Kalymons another full day but well worth it .Overall a very good holiday destination.Written 19 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - lib taylor8 contributionsWe recently visited here, was abit sceptical as everywhere had closed for the winter so was very quiet. But we carried on walking and found the lake, we were lucky enough to see some flamingos which were lovely to watch.Written 1 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David DDevon, UK20,544 contributionsSaturday 3rd October and we had been to see the Salt Lake, Alekis near the town of Tigaki on the northern coast of the Island.
From the Lake we walked across the road, towards the sea, and we ended up on Flamigo Beach a beautiful white sandy beach. This beach is a continuation along the coast from there.
Yet another beautiful stretch of beach with it's clear water and white sand. There are, for hire, sun loungers and umbrellas and cabanas with sunbeds and weather protection sheets. We were charged €7 for 2 sunbeds, a chair and table.
There is lots of space along the beach to spread out towels and beach mats, relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.Written 18 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Pool lit up and fountains on.so sat and had a drink. Seating was quite comfortable and we were served quite promptly. After a few minutes the fountains went off and the background lift music stopped. So thought oh, that was quite pretty must what they call the ‘show’. Then other music started and fountains again lit up with different sprays and pumps to the music was quite effective. Once we had finished our drinks , we were going for food elsewhere. It’s a shame about the bad reviews, as we found it all quite nice. Felt sorry for the owner as when the show was on lots people stood and watched but didn’t buy a drink. It went on for quite a long time at about 8:30 till a good 9:15.Written 29 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - eric tDerby, UK283 contributionsThis is a nice friendly family run bar with a late a late night disco bar at the back. They also have Sky sports TV. It can get quite busy at times but the owner Michalis his family and staff will try to find you a seat if they can. They serve a good selection of cocktails and drinks with waiter service at competitive prices. They also give you a dish of salted nuts. It is nice bar to sit in and watch the world go by.Written 3 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GrandTour652280443101 contributionWe have just returned from a wonderful sunny autumn getaway to Kos and are so glad we spent a day visiting the Happy Flamingo Beach! The man who runs the beach was lovely and friendly - he even gave me a sun lounger free of charge because he could see I was pregnant. We had some food on the beach which was really quickly served (to your own hut!) and delicious. The sun loungers were super comfortable and you’re given your own hut which was lovely if you wanted a bit of shade or privacy. The beach also provided lots of inflatables for free, free use of toilet facilities and lots of things to keep children occupied. We had such a great day and would love to return if we’re ever in Kos again :)Written 27 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alicia BeetBeverley, UK11 contributionsSo ticklish! I was skeptical because I’ve always been scared to have my feet ‘massaged’ by fish, but the people were so welcoming and I felt at ease. Very clean too!Written 20 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
