- aligibsonwow3 contributionsWe stayed nearby at Surf Ranch Popoyo, but came here almost daily, had lunch at multiple restaurants and surfed at Popoyo. Very cool place, still not fully developed but that's why we liked it.Written 2 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Janette HHingham, MA2 contributionsLove this beach. The pelicans and hermit crabs were fun to watch. Be sure to use the hammocks in the shade, they make a great afternoon reading or napping spot.Written 1 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KruReginaSisaket, Thailand5 contributionsLove this school (and I’m a teacher in the US)!
My teacher Dunia was very thoughtful about bringing in exercises to help improve my verb tense conjugation as well as having me speak and write about typical issues that might come up with my Spanish speaking students and families.
Classes are RIGHT next to the beach!
I was originally the only student enrolled in afternoon classes so they suggested I switch to morning classes so I could be part of the group activities. Each day we would have an optional break in the middle of class to do group games to improve our use of bigger numbers, typical conversations etc.
The director of the school Juan is also very helpful and transparent about the school experience.
I stayed in a local homestay family which was a great way to practice Spanish and get to know the local culture.
Note: During my time often I didn’t get reception with my Nica SIM card (Claro) unless I walked to specific places. Wifi and electricity were also sporadic.
I loved my experience in Gigante, but if heat, walking through muddy roads (rainy season) and mosquitoes bother you, loud rain on a tin roof + thunder in the middle of the night f the night bother you, then you should prepare for these issues.Written 10 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Courses are well-maintained and challenging without being overwhelmingly so.Written 21 March 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nette BDuncan, OK151 contributionsWe stopped in here several times to get Wifi, information, and drinks. I wish we could recreate the Iced Latte at home...it was so good! The WiFi worked great! And we enjoyed talking with the guy (wish I'd gotten his name) who worked there and getting information from him. Great spot!Written 12 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Barb RUnited States6 contributionsExceptional service.
We had a flat tire and were late meeting up with our driver. He was very nice and drove us from the Managua airport to the Nicaragua/Costa Rica border. He was very helpful with our luggage and helping us get through the border. Then we were met on the Costa Rican side with the new driver who was also very friendly and helpful. He drove us from the border to our resort. I would highly recommend this company. They are prompt, helpful and very friendly.Written 20 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This was very valuable as I traveled by myself and am probably twice the age of the average participant.
PSC is your perfect guide into hidden Popoyo: there's nothing going on in town unless you know about it with daily updates.
PSC was the perfect camp for an intermediate surfer like myself. The waves at Gavilan and Penon are big but forgiving. There was one monitor for every 2 - 3 surfers, with at least one who had good command of English. Transport is foreseen to remote locations including the boat trip to Penon. Video analysis is made. This also means that mostly a cameraman is on site to guard your belongings on the beach. PSC has a broad gamut of surfing boards to try out.
Breakfast at the community table was great. Belle is a main asset to the camp.
The place feels very safe and has a night guard.
Maui, the dog of the owner, is great. It has been rumored that he actually runs the place.Written 3 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
