  • 1. Sun Hop Shing Tea House
Hop Kee Restaurant, New York City, New York

    DimSumLIcious
Break away from traditional breakfast, and try Dim Sum. Dim Sum is the Asain version of breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Different varieties of small portions (like tapas, or appetizers) are pushed in carts, ant the fun part is picking and choosing what you want to try. Sun Hop Shing Tea House is small, personal, and the food is on the money (or lack of). Expect to pay as little as $15 depending on family size for a big breakfast. My family (of 9) had a great big brunch for only $40! Dim Sum is served from 8am-2pm. Bring Cash!

  • 2. TKTS
TKTS, New York City, New York

Puttin' on the Ritz (half off!)
Whats a New York visit without seeing a broadway show? Try getting yourself to either TKTS locations (Duffy Sq. and South Street Seaport) and purchase your tickets at 25-50% OFF. You will be impressed at the amount of discounted shows.

  • 3. Marriott Marquis New York

    THE HELLEVATOR!
Be a kid again and ride the Marriot Marquis centermost elevators (you'll know when you get there) to the top. The ride down is such a thrill....but I can't give away the secret! Its Free, and will give you that just peed my pants, butterflies in the stomach feeling. Ahhh what fun.

    http://www.insidehoops.com/west-4th-street-basketball.shtml

Don't Pay for Madison Square Garden Seats!
Be in the action at the West 4th Street "Cage". The B-Ball games are intense, and the mix of onlookers is as diverse as NYC can get. These guys really play for love of the game, with their heart. Best of all this is free, and you are close to all West Village attractions.

  • 6. The MOMA
    http://www.moma.org/

    The Big Moma
Unbelievable collection of modern art. The Jackson Pollocks are grand, The Rothkos mesmirizing, the Raushenbergs are inspiring....now that i have exhausted my thesaurus...its great. Plus its free, thanks to Target, every friday.

  • 7. Brooklyn Bridge
    Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn, New York

Cross the East River, and live to tell about it!
The walk across the Brooklyn Bridge gives you a great (free) view of the city, manhattan bridge, and statue of liberty. This is of course best done at night, when the sky is all lit up. The bridge, being one of the oldest suspension bridges in the States, is a sight to be seen!

  • 8. Chip Shop
    http://www.chipshopnyc.com/

    The Bobby Dazzler!
Great English comfort food. Fish and chips, and fried snickers bars are my Fave. They also have good English beer on tap!

  • 9. Brooklyn Museum
    http://www.brooklynmuseum.org/

    Boogey Down Brooklyn
The Brooklyn Museum Offers free entertainment for the whole family every first Saturday of the month (thanks again to Target). Dancing, art history, music, and film are on the menu. Not to mention this is a great museum regardless! You can easily walk to other great attractions like the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and Prospect Park.

  • 10. Stain
    http://www.stainbar.com/

    Everything NYC
This bar/"arts lounge" chooses to serve local talent and products. Happy hour from 5-8, and you can use their grill if you choose. You'll feel right at home at this way off the beaten path location (right off the L at grand street to be precise). There is a garden, poetry readings, craft nights, a wandering hula hoop, mural, library, "make-your-mark notebook",and live entertainment on some nights. P.S. the Sangria is killer.

  • 11. H & H Bagel
    http://www.handhbagel.com/

The epitome of New York...besides pizza...
You just can't pass up a bagel for breakfast.
This joint has made plenty of television appearances i.e. Sienfeld, Friends, SNL, etc.
    IT JUST SO GOOD!!!
