Things to do on your next visit to New Orleans
Visit Cafe Du Monde at its French Market location to people watch and listen to street musicians. No better beignets or cafe au lait anywhere!
Walk off your yummy breakfast through this indoor/outdoor open air market, and get yourself some crawfish boil spice while you're at it!
If Harrah's hasn't lured you in for some gambling, stroll along the Mississippi and see some shops.
Head uptown for lunch and shopping. This mexican restaurant is low on frills and high on DELICIOUS!
Pack a picnic and watch the sun go down in City Park - check out the paper for the Pring and Summer evening free concert series.
How cliche - Emeril and New Orleans - but trust me, this is the best food you may ever have.
Have a cocktail or a cold beer at this hip live music club in the Fouberg Marigny - good times.
It's tradition - you have to do it once - breakfast at this legendary place is to die for.
Shop in all the trendy shops and stops in this hip and cool uptown neighborhood.
And while you're still Uptown - head into Frankie & Johnny's for classic crawfish and poboy New Orleans comfort food.
Too early for a beer? Head out for a drive around the bayou and stop into the Rivershack for a sawdust on the floor, "tacky ashtray" and strange uh...barstools at this no frills tavern
Yum - head into the French Quarterfor some deliciously homemade Italian food at this small restaurant in the Fouberg Marigny.
Walk into anywhere you hear the sound of zydeco - particularly this original - to hear great live music.
And be sure to visit during the last weekend in April or the first weekend in May for Jazz Fest on the fairground - great food, great music.
And if you're feeling really crazy, come for Fat Tuesday celebrations which start weeks before Mardi Gras day itself - Have fun and help support New Orleans!
