The water trail is accessed via a soft launch located just across the street from the parking lot at Rodman Slough County Park, located on the Nice-Lucerne Cutoff between Nice and Lakeport.
Set off from the launch at the slough side of the Nice-Lucerne Cutoff Bridge and follow the route four miles until it deadends at the Tule Lake culvert.
During higher lake levels, several "arms" amongst the tules are also good for exploring. These could add another few miles of fun paddling.
Coming back to the launch, Mount Konocti provides a beautiful backdrop. This is a route best taken in winter, spring and early summer, when the migratory bird population is higher, as well as the water levels.
This is Water Trail #7 - the seventh in a series created by the Konocti Regional Trails System in Lake County, California. less «
