1. Parking

Park here for your exploratory walk around the quarry. This is a quarry that my geology teacher at Bowdoin new about when I was there in 2001. On the short hike around this quarry we found massive crystals of biotite, quartz and albite mixed in the the feldspar, granitic pegmatite and metamorphic gneiss of the area. 2. Land Crossing

Here is a stretch of rocks that splits the two water-filled quarries. If the water level is low enough you can easily cross here to explore the walls on the opposite side for crystals. In the photo is my Geology Professor with the quarry walls behind her. When you are done exploring for crystals just head back to the vehicle.
