Without question, Channel Lights is one of the two finest B & B type accommodations in which my wife and I have ever stayed in all our travels across 48 of the 50 US states and numerous countries. There are only two guestrooms in the house built six years ago. Chanel Lights was a B & B, but has now... More

Hard to describe the perfection of the Channel Lights experience without it sounding impossibly too good to be true, but true it is! We stayed for three wonderful days and nights and could not have been made more welcome. Philly and Chris are the most caring, delightful hosts without being in the slightest intrusive. We had a wonderful meal in... More

The most comfortable heavenly beds, the tidiest -spic & span, functional rooms, own private entry, walking distance to marina & great restaurant nearby. The Hosts Chris and Phillipa are delightful, friendly and a wealth of local knowledge. We were also spoilt to find our own mini fridge with surprise delicious bottle of chilled local wine waiting for us. Tea/coffee/toaster with... More

In September I stayed for 2 nights following a booking made a few months earlier. I read other reviews prior to booking and everything that had been written is absolutely true. The booking process via email was prompt and all enquiries / questions were answered. The accommodation was fantastic, spotlessly clean, decor exceptionally nice, very large room with a luxurious... A great position with top views. Philippa and Chris made us feel very welcome. We stayed at many top class hotels in this trip but none of them came up to the standard of this one. The best place to eat that we liked was at the Hotel just a short walk away. If we are lucky enough to comeback... More

I can only repeat what the other reviewers have said. The bathroom was the last word in luxury and to have reclining armchairs to look out over the harbour was just wonderful. Philippa and Chris were wonderful friendly hosts, the place was so peaceful and the view great. The bed was also extremely comfortable. This was definitely our top place... More

Philippa welcomed us with a great smile and immediately told us that Chris is going to take us for a tour over the Sound in his water taxi boat! We saw the the mussels farms and heard... More

We stayed with Philippa and Chris at Channel Lights at Christmas. They were so welcoming and wonderful to us. The room was extremely comfortable, quiet, and ideally located for walks into town or to the harbor. We got to hear some of the very interesting history of the place when we rode out with Chris on his water taxi. We... More

After 8 weeks of touring NZ, and staying in some lovely accommodation, this was our favourite. The unit was spacious, comfortable, warm & spotless with lovely views over the harbour, hills and out over the Sound. But it was our hosts, Chris & Phil who made our stay so outstanding. If you get chance, go out with Chris in his... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Channel Lights Accommodation in August of 2010. The place is immaculate, luxurious, spacious, and modern with all the ammenities you could need. The owners, Chris and Philly, were very warm and welcoming, and their labradoodles, Olive and Morrison, were equally friendly. Chris runs the Pelorous Sounds Water Taxi and took us on a... More
