This was our 5th trip to Costa Rica/this property and if you are looking for one of the most beautiful, clean, safest, friendliest places to go to on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, this is the place to go. The best thing about it (in our minds) is that it is quiet, exotic and remote, but has all the... More

My husband and I recently enjoyed our first visit to Costa Rica. We lucked into the best place to stay in the country. The grounds are immaculate! The rooms are comfortable, clean, and private. We have seen the monkeys in the tree right at the property and colorful birds the iguanas on the roof, amazing. In the open air restaurant,... More

Despite excellent reviews in Trip Advisor, and a Fodor's Choice designation, we were disappointed in this establishment, although liked the restaurant. The restaurant was pretty and outdoors, and the food was homemade and excellent. Unfortunately, the 2 bedroom villa we stayed in was dirty, toilet didn't work right, and it had an 'ant problem' - meaning that ants were streaming... More

We checked into our solo Casa Margarita accomodations after a long day's drive. We were not greeted warmly upon our arrival, in fact, barely greeted at all. The chef who watched us wander around finally got up to help, could not find the reservation , then did. 'Here's the key- down the road.' We enter our gated house which was... More

Great for our first time in Costa Rica. Friendly people who welcome you and everything you need nearby....dining, pool, short walk to the beach, sunsets etc. Very simple rooms but clean. Beaches are deserted and prices are reasonable. We've returned two more years and rented other properties owned by the same people that have kitchens so we can do our... More

Booked this small, private hotel after reading several of the other reviews on TripAdvisor. We very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel is clean, pleasantly decorated, and welcoming. Staff is great. Gabriel the bartender is super helpful and fun (as mentioned in several other reviews). Owners Bernie and Alice (brother and sister) were very gracious, approachable and had a wealth... More

I recently stayed at the Guacamaya Lodge in one of the cabinas. This was a very simple accomodation, just a room and a bathroom, but it was quite nice. The grounds are lush, there is a pretty blue-tile pool, and a cool open-air bar and restaurant. There is a variety of fresh food and it is great. The beach is... More

If you are looking for a small resort away from the touristy areas of Costa Tica, this place is a great fit! We stayed 5 nights in the condos and enjoyed relaxed mornings sipping coffee and cooking breakfast - and delicious evening meals steps away at the open air restaurant. I highly recommend their fresh fish dishes! Lillian treated us... More

Here you will find a nice restaurant and bar, beautiful pool and landscaped grounds, along with very nice rooms including studios with kitchenettes, although you could eat all your meals in the open-air restaurant. The owners are in residence so every aspect of the Guacamaya Lodge is maintained to the owners' high standards. It is a short walk to the... More
