Minimal chic hotel in a great scenery in Maipu. The balcony is great and you can get a grape in the wineyard in a few steps. Very cozy and you will disconnect from everything here. It's beautiful, staff is friendly, food is pretty decent. Only 8 rooms, to is really calm. I would recommend for a romantic getaway. More

Beautiful hotel located in the surroundings of Mendoza. Yes it is far away from the city and not truly on a vineyard but the staff is great, the hotel architecture very appealing and the food delicious. Perfect for those who enjoy a quiet atmosphere and prefer modern minimalist interior design rather than standardized luxury. More

We stayed at El Aguamiel for 3 nights in April 2011 and really loved it. The rooms are very comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. We wanted to do a wine tour of the region and got some excellent tips from the staff. One thing surprised us was that the restaurant is under used. The food was fantastic as... More

I'm glad I didn’t take too much notice of the last couple of poor reviews - seemed to me to have been written in anger. I had a great stay and would certainly recommend this place (indeed it had been recommended to me by someone who travels to this area a lot). The design is outstanding. Think luxury minimalist Scandinavian... More

The 6 foot electric fence around the compound was said to be for "the animals". I was expecting a hotel on a vineyard with some good food and tasty wine. That's not the case. It's quite a production to have dinner. If you want to eat dinner there you are instructed to tell them in advance so they can get... More

We had high expectations for Aguamiel. This on our long trip was where we decided to spend the most money per night. It sounded like a lovely vineyard in the center of Maipu in Mendoza. You pull through a favela (not the nicest neighborhood) and you encounter a closed property. You enter through the gate and enter into the hotel... More

This is not hotel among lush vineyards. This is a few acres bought in the middle of an Argentinian favela / shantytown, where they built high design (but poorly built with cheap materials) cabanas, enclosed them in an electrified fence to keep out the locals and the wild dogs from the surrounding favelas and planted about 30 rows of vines... My husband and I stayed here over Christmas 2010 for 3 nights and cannot sing its praises highly enough. We aren't the kind of couple to plan ahead and only found this hotel the day before we arrived, and to be honest, from the photos, we were a bit concerned we'd be staying at MFI. Couldn't have been more wrong.... More

We stayed in Mendoza for 5 nights, 3 of which were at the El Aguamiel. The location is fairly difficult to find on maps or with google maps, but once we figured out where it was, we realized it was very centrally located to some great wineries and main roads the lead through the greater Mendoza area. The hotel itself... More

We stayed at 3 different vineyards. After staying at an old vineyard set in the country...at first sight this vineyard was not what we are looking for. Once we got settled in we quickly changed our tone. The rooms were great. Modern and really comfortable. The staff was very helpful and it was nice to be near multiple vineyards and... More
