Staying in a converted railway car was great fun, with the family bunk room and other family in the other rooms it was really good fun, a lovely view and something outside the norm of a hotel or hostel, thoroughly recommend this place and its a good price, only minus point is the walls are paper thin, some if the... What a wonderful, quirky unusual place to stay. The sleeper car comes with five sleeping bunks. Don't be expecting a massive room they are on a train carriage. Then you get a shower room a separate w.c and a two sink area. At the other end of the carriage there is a well equipped kitchen and then a dining/seating area.... More

It's a hostel. It's an old sleeper carriage. Don't expect huge rooms! However, we stayed in the famliy room - double bed and bunks and it was roomy enough. It's really sociable with a communal kitchen and dining area. You're right over from the station, with a short walk to get a good view of the viaduct (think Harry Potter!)... More

We found the sleeping car, our compartment, the kitchen and sitting area and the toilet and shower area to be absolutely clean and well looked after. The kitchen is well eqipped and the sitting area is lovely decorated. We were watching the birds outside, while having our breakfast, and enjoyed the silence you find in the sleeping car during the... More

Great experience to go for coffee or lunch in the 60 year old railway carriage. Food is excellent and the staff are very friendly. The museum is modest but very well done. Well worth visiting including the walk to the Harry Potter viaduct!

We didn't stay the night but we had lunch in the rail car next to it and it was the most beautiful soup and sandwich. Very tasty soup and freshly made sandwich. Lovely friendly staff.

This is a great location with fantastic views all around and nearby. The sleeping space was damp and cramped. The kitchen is small for the potential number of guests and it did become very crowded. There is a lovely alternative in the dining car next door (season only). Overall the carriage needed a good clean, given this was a communal... More

The sleeping car certainly has novelty value, but it's a little unloved. We didn't find it in a very clean state - bins hadn't even been emptied from the previous guests or the toilet flushed. Beds are really uncomfortable, but that's nothing unusual for a hostel. As you might expect from a sleeping car, space is pretty confined - not... More

What a delightful quirky place to stay...a converted 1950's rail coach sitting right beside Glenfinnan Station. It comprises of 4 rooms (bunkbeds) and one room with bunk bed and double, kitchen, shower and toilet and TV room. It felt like a night in the far poorer relation of the Orient Express but much more fun..well maybe. More so as we... More
