Stayed there twice in 2011 on an official trip...like many staffs in service industries in Japan, the hotel staffs were highly courteous, attentive, and granted your every request without any hassles. The assorted bathroom amenities cover everything you need and refilled daily. I especially like the bathroom. I like to have my bathroom floor dry all the time therefore I... More

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel which seems to be an institution in Tokyo but is it really worth all the fuss ? To start with, the luxurious decor is a bit dated, not in a nice way. In our case, the sheer size of the hotel made it difficult to go quickly from our room (#2915) to the... More

Enjoyed my stay but the expectation exceeded the delivery. Clearly an established top tier hotel but the facilities lack the pzazz - and views of other Tokyo hotels like the Conrad and Ritz Carlton The staff are attentive and offer great service - what else would one expect in Japan The location is good - Hibya is centrally located -... A very large, and somewhat austere hotel in a slower paced, elegant part of Tokyo. Everything was as one would expect from a 5 star hotel in Tokyo, except for the swimming pool which was small and you had to wear hotel supplied bathing caps! Close to Ginza, fantastic shops and lots of restaurants and also the Imperial palace, which... More

We spent four nights at the Imperial and we cherish the most wonderful memories of this exquisite hotel. This hotel has a special place in the heart of the Japanese because, in its previous incarnations (the hotel was rebuilt 3 times) it used to host the guests of the imperial family. The hotel has a unique, traditional charm, walking in... More

The room was great and met my needs but what concerned me was that the toilet seat (I am a male) was heated and was warm when I arrived and considering that the country has a power issue with the turn down of their nuclear power stations could the hotel consider turning this luxury item off as standard and the... The service is impeccable at this hotel, from the moment you arrive, to the house-keeping staff and elevator attendants and the concierge and front desk. And it has a wonderful lobby to sit in while you watch bride after bride getting photgraphed on the famous stairway. There were 20 weddings in the hotel on a SUnday when I visited, but... More

I stayed in the Imperial around 6 times last year. In total I think I spent around 30-35 days there. At first I regretted that my company's policy was to use the Imperial as I tended to like the MO or the Peninsula or the Grand Hyatt. I dont think this hotel has very nice rooms particularly and the decor... More

I arrived Sunday April 8th with an 82 year old friend who last visited Tokyo 62 years ago. I called the Imperial ahead of time and requested a wheel chair and asked what the charge would be for the 3 days, I was told no charge. I needed a smoking room for him which put us in the tower, so... More

My wife and I stayed at the Imperial from 4/1-4/6 while we were visiting to consider a potential relocation to Tokyo. We had originally considered the Ritz in Roppongi, but changed to the Imperial due to proximity to my office. I'm very glad we made the switch. The hotel staff were the friendliest and most hospitable of any hotel I've... More
