Our first night in Japan was spent here. The rooms were very small & very minimalist (as per website photos) but we had everything we needed. The jacuzzi room upstairs was fantastic! The price doesn't include breakfast. The staff recommended an awesome udon restaurant 2 min walk away- I didn't taste anything quite like it during the rest of my... More

We stayed two times in our Japan trip at the Andon Ryokan and I can honeslty say it was an excellent decision to stay here. As other reviews have stated - the place is located in a good, safe and quiet area, conveniently located just a couple of blocks from the Minowa station (Hibiya subway line). If you're looking for... Stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of our trip and really enjoyed it. Set us up for a great holiday in Japan. Staff were friendly & helpful. Rooms were a little on the small side but wasn't the end of the world. Tradition Japanese room with a futon style bed & a fabulous jacuzzi on the top floor... More

I have stayed here on two separate trips and I just love it, the rooms are very small but you get used to it quickly, everything is clean, the jacuzzi is amazing, the breakfast is very good, everything about it is great. More

I recently returned from an amazing first trip to Tokyo, and I stayed here for 15 out of the 17 nights I was there. The Andon was a large contributor of my positive experience and I'm actually about to make reservations to stay there again at the end of the year. The Andon experience is a good mesh of old... More

Very nice place with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are small but cozy. Neighborhood is not very interesting. I recommend this place because of staff and good atmosphere. If you are going to explore Tokyo like us.. stay there 3 nights and then try another neighborhood ;) More

it was our 1st time in Tokyo, and we were very happy to stay at this ryokan! It's a very basic place but clean, elegant, quiet, nice and confortable. Don't expect any particular luxurious services, here you will sleep in a very small room (as usually in Japon), and take a shower in a small cabine. there is no private... More

I was a bit concerned about finding the place given everything written about japanese system of addresses. Turned out not to be a problem at all - we were given excellent instructions. Received a really warm welcome on our arrival too. The place was an unusual combination of the modern and traditional - like the glass box exteriors. Rooms were... More

I recently stayed at Andon for two four-day periods (either side of a trip to Kyoto), during my second visit to Japan. I stayed here on my first visit as well, and it is such a gem of a place that it was the ONLY place I considered going back to this time around. The building itself is beautiful -... More

I had a wonderful experience here. For me, Andon wasn't just a place to stay, it was a unique opportunity to learn more about Japanese culture. I found the staff incredibly friendly, the breakfasts affordable and delicious, the spa upstairs delightful. When I return to Tokyo, I will definitely stay here. More
