We were so disappointed with our accommodation. It was nothing like the website described it to be and so expensive. We usually stay at Bentons when visiting Levin but unfortunately they were fully booked. We have two young children and the so called open plan lounge and kitchen was so small not to forget the three bedrooms which were partitioned... More

I recently stayed at Fantails for the fourth time in the past 3 years. It is situated in a quiet location with beautiful grounds for guests to enjoy. I couldn't think of anything worse than staying in the middle of town, on a highway, with trucks and trains rumbling by 24/7! The rooms are comfortable and the quirky features contribute... More

We understood the concept of Fantails as we have stayed in Tui Cottage previously, but were unprepared for the ramshackle, shabbyand expensive accomodation of Times Past Cottage. The website advertising bore no resemblance to what we were shown into. Two bedrooms were in fact now a pokey three (4 woman had 1 dressing table to share) There was no sep.... More

Sure the location was quiet but the cottage was so old and pieced together, with what appeared to be glass office partitioning. So when someone put a bedside light on (as there were no light switches in any of the bedrooms!) it illuminated the whole place waking everyone. The main bedroom was too small to store our 2 suitcases, and as... More

This is an update to my previous review. I have done this as we spontaneously turned up on this B & B's doorstep , early evening on a Saturday on the off chance that Heather wouldnt be full. With baited breathe we announced our presence and were greeted like long lost friends. Luckily she had just had a cancellation due... More

This was our third visit to this lovely B & B, in Levin. We have stayed in both Times Past Cottage and in the Main house upstairs. We would recommend the cottage for people with little kids as it is informal and separate so you have no worries about the littlies being noisy. Everything you need is there without being... More

This was a beautiful place to stay. I too had Tui Cottage and Heather the proprietor was lovely and spoilt me with totally organic breaskfast each day. Didn't have the same thing twice the whole week. Although it was winter the cottage was cozy and warm and where else do you you have the owner running thru the rain to... More
