My husband I stayed at Woodland House Hotel last weekend and were very impressed with the quality of our room and bathroom. Good food and professional friendly service made our stay enjoyable. On going refurbishment, while in no way intruding on our stay, will make this a truly magnificent hotel. Highly recommendable! More

This place is really a tardis as well as a work in progress. It is undergoing refurbishment but phase 1 rooms are ready and I challenge anyone to find more beautifully equipped rooms anywhere in Dumfriesshire or most other places. We stayed at this hotel on my son's recommendation and was not dissapointed.We were lucky enough to have a suite which was lovely,but the new wing is of a very high standard whichever room you have.The food was excellent,George,Janice and their staff were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble.A very pleasant stay in a beautiful part of Scotland. Was a guest here and was very dissapointed, not child friendly at all and the manager walked about all night as though we had a problem, the food was all right, but wouldn't recommend going there if you were planning a party. More
