We visited here with the aim of having lunch. We normally eat at a nearby hotel but thought we would have a change. The hotel really is very nice and the staff fantastic. However, the food was not good. We ordered salmon sandwiches and received a plate with bread and salmon in the middle so I suppose it was a... More

Just had a one night stay at the Leeming House Hotel, wow what a location, we had a lovely bedroom with a balcony overlooking the formal gardens and water fountain, with the stunning backdrop of Ullswater and the dramatic scenery behind. The gardens are a delight to walk around and very well kept and presented. Our room and bathroom were... More

stayed two nights with family and small child. our rooms overlooked the lake and gardens - very lovely. Good size rooms with enough space for cot. Bed fairly comfotable, pillows a bit on the lumpy side. Small bathroom and noisy taps (air in pipes). Dinner in restaurant was good but we thought a bit on the pricy side at £7... More

Stayed at Leeming House for one night only and have stayed here before on 2- 3 occasions in the past. The is an old country house that has retained its character and has a view over Ullswater that is absolutely breathtaking. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The dining area is lovely and the breakfasts are delicious. The... More

If you enjoy paying £9.05 for a single shot of Lagavulin, £23 for a bottle of £5.99 Sauvignon Blanc and an hotel where all the staff (although very polite) are from Eastern Europe then this is the hotel for you. The evening meal was expensive as well as tiny to encourage you to pay extra for vegetables, sauces etc We... More

I visited this hotel for business purposes. The location is stunning and the hotel beautiful. This would be well suited for hill walkers and people looking for a quieter part of the lakes. The room was spacious - not huge and although i didnt have a balcony, i had a view over the gardens and a deep windowsill that was... More

We stayed here last summer and decided to return for our wedding anniversary at the end of March. We weren't disappointed. The location is fabulous, the hotel is beautiful andthe staff are professional and very attentive. Food really excellent, if short on choice at dinner. We really enjoyed the gardens and had a lovely large room with a balcony overlooking... More

We arrived at Leeming House on a Sunday afternoon after some difficulty getting there due to the bad weather (A66 was shut due to snow) but remarkably the roads there were clear. We were checked in quickly and given details of the Macdonald Club as we tend to stay in their hotels on a regular basis. We found our room... More
