We booked this on spec but ended up staying four nights. We had fabulous views down Loch Linnhe and the room was very comfortable and clean. I've read the other negative reviews on this - they must have been staying at another hotel. The food was good, the manager and his staff were very friendly and they could not have... More

We stayed for two nights at the end of Sept 2011 and thought the hotel was great. The owner and his wife who run the hotel were very accommodating. Our room was more than adequate with stunning views over the loch. The bathroom was different class, the spa bath was superb and after we lit the candles and opened a bottle of wine we... Weird place and very expensive for what you get, given that they market this hotel as a luxury retreat for couples, I would have been devasted if this had been a long awaited romantic getaway! We booked our two night stay just a few days before we went, having found it on the Visit Scotland website while searching for accommodation... More

OMG what is going on! This hotel is just bizzare. You couldn't pay me to stay in this hotel again. The only good thing that I could say about the hotel was that it was clean and the staff were nice. I was shown to my room and I just wanted to cry. It was like the old clearners storage... More

Quite simply, the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Inedible evening meal - first time we have ever got up and walked out. Breakfast no better. Left it too and checked out after one of our planned three nights. At least Fawlty Towers had people actually staying - this was definitely right out of Jack Nicholson's 'The Shining'. DO... More

We stayed here last night, just for one night. For an establishment whose sign said there were no vacancies we only saw two couples during our stay. On arrival we were made to feel welcome and were taken to our room, which was outdated although that could be a matter of personal taste. The bathroom however was small but modern.... More

My friends and I have just come back from a two night stay. Oh dear, Fawlty Towers indeed. Judging by some of the previous comments in the last few years it is a surprise this place remains open. It is clearly run on a shoestring. The staff when found pleasant enough but they clearly hadn't a clue, the bar was... More

What a lovely romantic and enjoyable stay we had in the Lodge on the Loch, Onich The room we stayed in was the Body and Soul room and it had so much character and lovely touches of luxury. So glad I did not read the negative reviews before booking as I cannot agree with any of them. We were looked... More

I firat stayed in this hotel 30 years agi when it was owned by a local family who had had it in their care for many generations. Thye cared for their guests, talked to them about what to do and see and ensured their guests had a good stay. Now its owned by a pair of brothers who know little... More

We spent 4 nights in the Lodge on the Loch, having been there the previous year. We don't usually return to hotels, but had loved this one so we thought we'd return. It'd been closed for a while for refurbishment and we weren't disappointed in it. The room was beautiful and spacious (it was a bit cold and there's only... More
