Stayed here for one night and received a very warm welcome. My room was clean and spacious and the food was excellent. Had two minor gripes, the shower in my room didn't work and nor did the Wifi for the time I was there. All told this is a nice hotel and would stay here again.

8 of us stayed on 14 June in the new modern fully equipped bedrooms. All of them beautiful, tasteful and individual also offering 4 different pillow types. From the Wet room for disabled, The Guy Fawkes room to the Ashby with Juliet balcony. We could not fault them and its all a credit to the owner Mark Butler. Well done... More

I had booked in the "Olde Coach House" for 2 nights on May 21 & 22 /2013 with the stipulation that I would arrive late (around midnight), which was acknowledged by the owner as being "no problem". I arrived at 23:57 and found the place closed despite me knocking on doors and windows. Even tried to phone, but no answer.... More

Dear Sir Following your late arrival problem I did investigate the matter and sent you an apology for a situation which was a fault of my management, because they were left instructions to stay behind after we closed to let you in. Unfortunately the person on duty just missed you by minutes and assumed you were not arriving and as... More

I cant praise this place enough , we had all 6 rooms and more guests for lunch. all the staff were friendly laid back and efficient. The food was lovely and the beer excellent! rooms are spacious and clean, my only negative was our shower (room 6) was pretty poor and the pipes rattled when the toilet flushed. but these... More

This hostelry is very friendly and good food is served by efficient staff. This was the second time we'd stayed there after a gap of about a year following their unfortunate fire. The rooms in the old part of the building are now "tired" and are being replaced shortly, which should be a big step forward. The noisy plumbing in... More

I've been visiting this Gastro Pub for the past 5 years on a lunchtime for business. The ambience of the venue is excellent either in the pub or restaurant. Service is always very good and initiated with a warm welcome. A good selection of ales which always goes down well with foreign visitors. My all time favourite is the "Proper"... More

Ok, this place is nice, in a beautiful village with a lovely atmosphere. The problem for me and my fellow diners was quite simply portion sizes. I'm not greedy at all; I'm in fact very slim, but if you ate in this place daily, you'd be skeletal fairly quickly! Our Sunday lunch had one, yes one green bean, 2 tiny... More

Dear Guest I am sorry you did not enjoy your Sunday lunch with us and I am surprised you were not happy with the portions. I do wish you had made us aware at the time because we would have gladly given you some more veg. We served 180 people on that day and did not receive any other complaints.... More

Nice place to go for drinks and possibly a share platter, won't advise going for dinner. Very expensive for the quality of food received. You are paying restaurant prices for pub grub. Also, several of the staff we poorly trained with a lack of manners. It's not what wanted it to be!

Dear guest I am sorry you felt we were overpriced and the service you received was not up to our usual standard. We try accommodate the full spectrum of visitors where we offer a fixed priced daily menu Monday to Thursday with one course for £6 and two courses for £9.95 until 7.30pm. My wife and I call this our "Local" but in actual fact it is 4 miles from where we actually live and bearing in mind that we have 3 pubs and one club in our village we much prefer to use the OCH. A couple of years ago before the makeover this was NOT the place to be, the plce... More

We have stayed here several times and continue to enjoy the experience. Be sure to book a table when booking your room as the pub gets v busy and there's a reason for that, the food is good. Good rooms, modern, neutral colours. Bathroom was starting to look a tad tired and the pressure in the shower could have been... More
