5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2013 NEW

Found at the last minute and very pleased that we did. A place with character and comfort. It has obviously expanded over the years, taking over and developing adjacent buildings so it is spread out in the small cave area. It still retains the old Cornish fishing village character. The surrounding coast, the walks along it and the views are... More

Arriving at reception on a sunny afternoon and stepping into the some what gloomy interior I wondered how my search for a good hotel had gone astray but 2 steps beyond the desk was a view to die for. Nothing but sea and coast. No shops and at this time of year very few people milling about. The drive down... More

We planned for our Wedding Reception to be held at The Lugger after getting married nearby. I could not be more impressed with how amazing our time was there. Richard, Russell and the rest of the team were so fantastic. They were very attentive and nothing we asked for was too much bother. The venue is amazing, the food was... More

I booked this hotel via an online website and immediately cancelled the booking after realizing I had made a mistake with the booking dates. Unknown to me the small print of the booking conditions stated that the full amount will be taken on booking and is non-refundable. The Hotel refused to refund the money to the credit card used and... More

Perfect stay in a lovely setting. Staff provide excellent service in a wonderful Cornish location. Food delicious and served with I smile. A must visit if you plan a trip to the area. Walks along the cost are worth trying with views to rival any along the coastline.

We spent two nights at this hotel over the bank holiday. The location is stunning, Portloe is a beautiful little place. The best part was the relaxing atmosphere, it was like being on a Greek island (without the weather although it was very sunny) ; we really did slow down. The rooms were very adequate and quiet, the beds comfy.... More

We had a happy two day stay in glorious weather. We enjoyed the food and friendly service. Two suggestions. 1. Keep the nightly weather forecasts but shelve the jokes. 2. Replace Jolly Roger with St Piran's flag on the pole. Thanks.

Stayed due to a wedding nearby, a great hotel in a delightful location on the seafront. Staff are attentive and provide a turn down service that includes hot chocolate with marshmallows. On the negative side the rooms are quite small and its frustrating to only have WI-FI in the main building and not in the rooms. Be sure to visit... More

Stayed here for 2 nights in a room in the main hotel. The room was great, clean and plenty big enough, with views of the tiny harbour. The meals were excellant, well prepared, visually appealing and tasty. Breakfasts were good, and the eggs benedict the best my wife had all holiday, no mean feat as our next stop was Gidleigh... We have travelled a lot throughout Britain and we´ve always tried to be easy customers and not to make complaints about irrelevant things but this time it was too much. The village where the hotel is located is beatiful, but the service and the manager were horrible. He treated us as not worth customers since the beginning and on top... More
