If you book a room here be sure to reserve one in the main building. Otherwise you may end up in the East Wing, and you'll regret it. Our room was tiny, dated, badly furnished, had paper thin walls and contained a bed that was barely bigger than a standard single. The first thing I did upon arrival was to... More

Located in a training centre, this country house in wonderful gardens gives the impression of grandeur & luxury in the public areas. The rooms are spartan - reminiscent of student digs - but functional, though it was impossible to open the window or turn off the radiator in my room, which lead to the staff having to turn off the... I recently attended a two day wedding at the "Node" but was concerned before hand having read recent reviews. However,my own view was ( and I am fussy ) that the whole experience was excellent from start to finish. The building itself and the substantial grounds are superb. Our room which had been refurbished was very good .The food was excellent... More

Ok I will start with the positives 1) The sausages and scrambled eggs were very nice Now the Negatives 1) receptionist gave me my key on check in and that was it. No welcome, no mention of what times dinner or breakfast were 2) Although it says the majority of rooms have WIFI this is not correct. Only a very... More

Oh dear........what a shame. This is a lovely old house in a nice location that's badly let down by it's sub standard accommodation. Rooms in the East Wing were poorly equipped. My tiny TV had a signal so poor that the (terrestrial only) programmes were virtually unwatchable. Ghastly bathrooms need a complete refit. On a more positive note the staff... More

I recently stayed at the hotel as part of a Company booking and I would not choose to stay there again. My room was number 40, a large souless room with no character and a tired appearance. The shower had visible hair from previous guests. The hotel WIFI is very hit and miss as it does not cover all parts... More

Me and my friend booked to stay at this hotel for this Sunday night as we are attending festival in the area. We called up today to confirm check in times and they advised us they did not have a booking under our name. When we booked we asked the lady we spoke to to send us Email confirmation, she... More

Overall a good value hotel. The Node is located just outside Hitchin in a semi rural location. The staff are very friendly (which always makes a difference), the hotel grounds are very well kept and offer a peacefull setting and the rooms are a decent size. The breakfast is good and the serving staff are again very friendly. The only... More
