Nice little hotel in a lovely quiet village. Rooms are big. Breakfast was very good. The pool is so nice to cool down. Two complaints : no A/C and lots of wasps in the area.

We took advice from someone posting on the Lyons forum who replied to my enquiry about stop-over suggestions just south of Lyons (we were driving from London to Nice) and booked a night at Les Hospitaliers. Stayed last night in Les Hospitaliers after an excellent dinner. Outstanding food, reasonably priced and obviously with high quality ingredients. Standard room has a rather small bed (with a board at the end...) which is for tall central Europeans a little short. Nice view from the room.

This charming and luxurious hotel is situated in the historic Knights Hospitaliers' fortress of Le Poet-Laval in the Dome area of Provence. A romantic crumbling hamlet of honey stone houses huddling beneath a ruined crusader fortress, which was once an ancient commandery of the Knights Hospitaliers.
We managed to book the last room they had which, unfortunately, was rather small...
