Yes, this place rocks! I went here with my 9 year old son, and it was aesthetically and in all other ways great! Apart from this particular accommodation, Asahidake is absolutely sublimely beautiful (and quiet, which is just so amazing after busy cities!). Just walking down the road at night with the lanterns on, the snow, was really lovely. The... More

The Lodge Nutpukaushipe is a warm, clean and friendly place, ideally located for hikes in the national park. The interior is filled with rustic furniture hand carved by the owner, which adds a unique charm. Rooms are large and simply furnished, with the shared bathrooms being immaculately clean. The inside onsen is small, clean and relaxing, but the real draw... More

I stayed here with a friend for a few days various years, for backcountry skiing and onsen. The outdoor onsen was amazing. The Nordic sauna was great too. Staff and other guests were great - contrary to what I read in one seemingly very exceptional review here, we felt very included and warmly welcomed. The food, the drinks, the conversation,... More

This lodge is our favourite from the many accommodations we stayed in Hokkaido!! We loved the cosy atmosphere, the beautiful wood craft found throughout the lodge, all designed & crafted by the owner! There is a piano, marimba & many othe musical instruments. Our 2 kids love them. There is a cosy reading, relaxing corner equipped with game sets &... More

Situated a 15 minutes walk from Mount Asahidake ropewaiy station this lodge is an absolutely extraordinairy place to stay. Beginning from the amazing woodwork on the interior, designed by the landlord himself, to the wonderful outdoor onsen situated right beside a creek in the midst of the rampant vegetation, excellent home-made Japanese food prepared by the landlady, spacious and uniquely... We loved our stay at Lodge Nutapukaushipe. The owners were very friendly, the variety of food was great, the onsen was beautiful and the lodge was close to lots of great walking. We would love to come back in the winter to go skiing.

The lodge had a very cosy feel, with beautiful Japanese style rooms and great indoor and outdoor onsen baths. From our window, we could see Mt. Asahidake. The owners were friendly, breakfast and dinner were delicious. I'd love to stay there again!

The lodge is set in a stunning, beautiful location with rooms with a view of the mountains. Dinner and Breakfast are included and taste delicious. The Lodge has two onsens an outdoor and indoor both are nice to relax after a day of hiking.

This place is located close to Daisetsuzan National Park, which is a perfect resting spot after a long hike to the top of Asahidake. The meals were standard fare and the rooms were clean but rather spartan. The outstanding feature of this lodge is the inhospitable attitude of the entire staff. After a long hike, my friend and I were... More
