Miserable cold weather, but site offered sheltered pitches on well drained ground. We risked the short walk in the dark (glad we brought torches) to the cosy and welcoming pub for our evening meal - recommended. We only stayed one night en route to York. Visited Alnwick Castle which was a big hit with the wee one, as Harry Potter... More

Very well located site for the beach, bus service and public house. Owners very friendly and helpful. Clean and tidy site with decent facilities. Limited domestic shopping nearby. Electric hookups, 10amp, which failed once or twice during a very cold period, but soon restored. Would use the site again.

This site is very well located for the village of Craster which is a 10 minute walk away and which is accessible by bus from Newcastle. I pitched there right at the end of the season in my one person tent for only £8 and was given a sheltered spot. The facilities are fine and you can but a few... More

Yes the facilities are a little dated and basic, but exceptionally clean and functional. I've been a few time and always chose to stay in one of the quieter small fields. Location is excellent and owner service very good, if a little eccentric at times.

First time staying at this site and first lengthy stay with a 11 month old baby in a tent! On arrival we were shown to our pitch, which wasn't big enough, we had booked two pitches next to each other and given measurements as we wanted to camp together due to having a baby to put to bed. The owner... More

Have stayed here on three occasions, very clean & tidy campsite with great amenities. Great for campers, caravaners, walkers, bird watchers, cyclists, dog owners & middle age couples! There is a Pub within walking distance of the site that serves food, or a 20 minute walk to Craster for a pub that serves excellent food with great sea views. Would... More

Stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of August. Found the campsite by chance and they managed to find us a place to pitch the tent despite it being the busy season. The weather was foul and there had been heavy rain but the ground doesnt get too muddy or squelchy. You are taken to a place to pitch... More

I stayed at this site 5th to 7th August. I have never seen so many caravans tents and motohomes crammed on this site. Not just that the electrics were spurred of and electricity kept tripping and we were not the only ones having the problems. Also you find signs all over pick up the poop. if like many dog owners... Camped here for a short break (3 nights) earlier this month and had a great time. The site is run, with almost military precision, by Mr and Mrs Davidson. Mr D seems to escort each and every arrival to their allocated pitch personally which means there is little chance of coming back to your tent to find someone has pitched... More
