It should be noted that there are new owners from early 2013. We have stayed twice with the previous owners and were very happy on both occasions, good value with a very good breakfast and lovely evening meals. This was our first visit with the new owners and when i phoned to book, as the on line facility was no... More

Although staff very friendly they failed to turn up on time one morning and not at all on the second . So no breakfast , no one around at the hotel at all, so i don't know what would happen during an emergency ! Would not return , very unorganised and no staff available over night .

Dined at the Crewe Arms in Madeley last night, looking at the other dining reviews I dont know what happened to our meals, was the usual chef on holiday?????? On arrival we were shown to our table, and the young lady who looked after us was very nice. We ordered drinks first which were brought to our table and were... More

We turned up without a booking on a busy Saturday evening. They went out of their way to accommodate us. We chose specials from the Specials Board and were not disappointed. Food and service was very good. Beer good too !!

Stayed here after a late booking, strange location seems to be situated in somebodies yard. Food an beer good - locals friendly, however rooms are a bit 70s and need refurbished, which in the present economic climate might be difficult.

Tried to book this hotel. Instead of simply telling me that the reservation computer was being used and they'd call me back got "Basil" telling me that the "we're currently taking reservations for this date". Of course you are - that's why I want to book on that date!! Having been utterly confused by his meaning I hung up and... More

Went here for Sunday lunch. Hadn't booked but we were shown to a table straight away. Staff, service and food could not be faulted. I hadn't been there for years having been disappointed in the past, but what a transformation. All the food was freshly prepared and cooked to perfection and excellent value for money. 3 people, 3 courses, coffee... More

They have excellent food, and they do a loyalty scheme where they stamp a card for everytime you spend I think it's either £10 or £20 and then with however many stamps you get £20 or so off the bill. I am a vegetarian and I feel they have a good selection.

Stayed here for one night in July 2012 as we had booked a meal to celebrate my wife's retirement, having previously enjoyed Sunday lunch here. Had an excellent meal and room was comfortable and quiet. Good breakfast followed by a nice walk around Madeley Pool. Very enjoyable.

Lovely welcome. Room clean & warm. Bathroom a bit tired but again clean with shower gel etc and plenty of towels Required a double room, none left but pushed the twins together for us - bless. Had dinner before going to our function. The food (steaks) was delicious, piping hot and served up in a very reasonable time. The pub... More
