Subsequent to our excellent stay at the Sanying Spa Resort Villa, our 3rd night we stayed in the Heungkong Wellness Valley Villa resort. The exterior of the villas were beautiful, and is a great place for picture-taking. However, once we entered our room (we were brought to the wrong villa at first), the interior of the villa was a little old and dusted, and the facilities were a little bit old. The positive news was that we were upgraded in terms of our villa- our original villa had 3 rooms, and this villa had 5 rooms in total (1 room was blocked because no one was using it). The villa had 3 floors in total, with the outdoor dual onsen pools located outside, as well as the living and dining room with the karaoke facilities. 1 bedroom was located on the 1st floor which was convenient for our grandma as she would not need to go up and down the staircase. The second floor comprised of three bedrooms in which we all stayed in, and the top floor was the last bedroom which was blocked for our use. We were greeted by a nice butler who gave us our room keys and introduced us to the hotel and villas. We then went outside for a walk. However, we were quite shocked to see lots of “cow poop” outside the roads- which indicates that no one has cleaned the roads outside of the hotel. We were also significantly shocked that villa users are not entitled to the onsen facilities in the hotel- and one has to pay a huge sum of $150 ish RMB in order to use the onsen facilities for one-time use (without any student discounts too). Hence we did not use the onsen facilities in the hotel. Another aspect that was quite shocking was that there wasn’t any escort car service from the hotel lobby to the villa- and since it was an approximately 10 minute walk from the lobby to our villa, this was a little shocking and indicates poor service and communication from the hotel. The beds were unfortunately quite hard and the sleep quality wasn’t as good as our first two nights at the Sanying Resort place. Nevertheless, I had some good sleep that evening. Our upgraded package in this villa also included free breakfast being served directly to our room. The breakfast was excellent- the pig congee was very delicious and fresh, and the “Cheong Fun” was silky and very delicious- this was a huge plus to our slightly disappointing villa stay. The two onsens outside our villa was quite nice- however during when we were soaking on the third night, a cat said “meow” and popped out behind the onsens. This was slightly absurd and we left the onsens that evening immediately. Overall, it was an average stay- I was quite disappointed with the service and hospitality provided by the hotel as well as the ageing facilities, but enjoyed the breakfast and views in this region. A more poised service would have given a 4-star rating. However saying this, thank you for the room upgrade!!

The sceneries are absolutely gorgeous and landscape well maintained. Junior staff at the gates are friendly and smiling but as far as guests customer service is concerned, the service is terrible. They charged 450 transfer to the airport when you can get a private car for 250. Also they charged 100 extra for parking on transfer for arrival! The Resturant quality at breakfast was disastrous. Not coming back again.

I was booked in here by my local client as we used one of the meeting rooms for a day and half workshop. It is about an hour from the airport, but they arranged for us to be met and transported very easily. Lovely big room, well appointed (although I did struggle with the lights at first!), and with a great view over what turned out to be a seres of hot springs and an amazing mountain beyond. The food is authentic and local, the service excellent and the hot springs are great fun. Not at all what I expected and a real pleasure to stay there. Although the only Westerners there, we didn't feel out of place and everyone was very helpful - and most staff speak excellent English. There are lots of villas in the grounds, which we also used and seemed okay, although the kitchen looked a little basic. The meeting facilities and service was excellent, which is a real weight off your mind when running workshops.

Heungkong Wellness Valley locates at Hot-spring City, Jinxiu Xiangjiang, Baishuizhai Scenic Spot, Guangzhou, about 70 kilometers from the airport. My Chinese relatives in Guangzhou had taken us for one night vacation there. It was really amazing for my family from Thailand to see a lot of comfortable beautiful houses in the calm and peaceful valley. We stayed a night there in an elegant decorated house with 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 3 living rooms, one gaming room, and one office. Each house has personal swimming pool and mineral pond. There are several sizes of house and also hotel rooms. Nightly rate of our house was Yuan 9,000.- ! including excellent breakfast.

Jinxiu Xiangjiang Hotspring Hotel is the second hotel I stayed in Zengcheng after the business meeting in Guangzhou. It is very close to the Pattra Resort but much newer. The room is clean with a balcony. Breakfast is good with plenty of seat. There is only one restaurant, but the food is very good. The hot spring is on the other side of the hotel which is about 1 minutes walk. About the staff, most of them are trainee but they know how to smile. I will definitely come back to this hotel again.
