Just enjoyed our fifth short break there in two years and have already booked next one. Spotless, comfortable rooms, superb food, friendly staff and helpful owner. Have taken friends to stay there and they were equally impressed. A great place to stay. More

I love this place. My family and I are always made to feel so welcome. Today was my seventh visit for my 30th birthday, and I had paté (which was divine) and duck in red wine and berries sauce. I can honestly say it was the best duck I have ever had. My family between them had venison, gammon and... More

Just returned from a long weekend and it was wonderful and just as I remembered when I stayed there last July. The rooms were lovely and clean and nothing was too much trouble. We also ate there every night and was very impressed with the standard. Nick and his team are wonderful and are always friendly. I will be returning... More

Friendly staff greeted us as we arrived quite late on a rainy Sunday afternoon, and despite being rushed off their feet we couldnt have expected better service. We were particularly impressed with the owners knowledge and enthusiasm..................as we sat having a drink before our meal a lady walked in and asked if there was anywhere around that she might be... We would like to thank the staff and owners of this great restaurant. We stay locally regularly and visit the William most times. Tonight as always was great food and service. We were entertaining family and friends and suggested a meal to end a good weekend and the William was our first choice and from the owner to the staff... More

Went in for a drink with a friend as we were passing, the staff were very friendly and welcoming but the experience was ruined by the owners judgemental looks and unfriendly attitude. He was far from welcoming. Returned for a meal a week or two later as i was invited out. The menu was very extensive which would suggest it’s... More

After eating at the King William this weekend, I do not think we will be returning, we have just moved into the area, and as we will have people visting us on regular basis we thought this would be be great, but we had to return a main course, because the meat was tough, the waitress came back and agreed... My husband and I came over from Amsterdam for a weekend of birdwatching and stayed at the KW. We had a lovely time at this very pleasant and comfortable hotel. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the beds of high quality. We also enjoyed the perfectly cooked breakfast and dinner. Good value for money, simple, fresh, typical English food. The... More

We visited early evening on a Saturday in April. We were the first table to be seated. The service was friendly but completely untrained. I've always been of the opinion that if somewhere charges restaurant prices and offers waitress service those staff should know the fundamentals of restaurant service ie simple cutlery lay out and realising that leaning across you... The management of The King William fully appreciates that standards in both the Front of House Service and the kitchen have, on occasion been at a level which has not met customer expectation. We sincerely apologise for this. A full review of menu's, operational procedures and customer service is currently being undertaken with appropriate steps being actioned. The management thanks...
