If you're looking for shopping, browsing, this isn't for you. If you want peace and quiet and at least a short drive to anything like civilization, this is your place. The structure is a bit difficult to navigate, so make a point of getting your bearings early on (left at the room with the billiards table, then up the 3... More

This is one of the most interesting places I have stayed at. We had 3 different rooms and every room was different. Hotel has kept all the details of a real castle so if you want to experience how it was in older times to live in a castle you should stay here. Views out of the window are great... More

Staying off season at a great 75 euro/nt in the old part of the pousada (rm 203). Staff is very nice and friendly but do have to go in search of people sometimes - probably because it is so slow here. Very nice conversion and my favorite of the 3 pousadas I've stayed at: Alcacer do Sal, Estremoz, and here.... More

Staying in Alentejo is always a wonderful experience, but staying in such a beautiful hotel, a mix between historical and modern architecture is something to remember. The service is efficient and the food very good, as it is always in Alentejo. The surrounding landscape with olive trees, green fields in winter and storks nesting in the hotel bell tower is... More

Again, in my wifes birthday, we went out to see another Pousada , one of the fews we have missed in Alentejo. The castle of Crato- Flor da Rosa is not far away from Lisbon, and .. the place is delicious. We feel the History ! the castel is very well adapted to a Pousada , with all the good... More

the place is beautiful ... but the restaurant is very weak and breakfast too ... prices are a 4/5-star hotel, but the services (including the restaurant and breakfast) are a 3 star hotel ... employees are friendly but should be more professional ...

As numerous other Pousadas, which have been converted from historical buildings, this is a wonderful blending of modern conveniences/amenities (central A/C, marble baths, wifi, swimming pool, etc.) with the original edifice whose history goes back to the 14th century (though it was largely updated in the 19th c.). It is still a historical landmark visited by paying non-residents...Welcome at reception... More

This Pousada is located in a very quiet rural village. The entrance is very attractive and it is quite amazing to realise that you are staying in such a wonderful monastery. Our room was very spacious and comfortable but lacked character as it was in the newer building which was not in keeping with the older buildings. We swam in... More

We have visited many Pousada's and this was an interesting one, the mix of modern inside a old building was nicely done. Access to the museum is very handy. As with all Pousada's depending on when you go they can be quiet which affects the atmosphere, we were there in November and it was very quiet which gave it a... More

For our honeymoon we choose to stay 2 nights at the this Monastery, because it was the most luxury & pretty of the Pousadas of Portugal. It is a must see or stay, but there are better Pousadas in the program (Vila Viçosa is one). Don't expect a cosy place, remember it's an old castle with great design improvements but... More
