I have just arrived back in Australia after 5 months travelling in Europe. This for me was the highlight of my whole trip and I did a number of cooking courses throughout Europe. From start to finish Marlene and Marks proffesional, friendly, tailored, experienced, hospitable AND homely service was outstanding! Fantastic cooking knowledge shared by Marlene, beautiful room and private... More

Spent a lovely few days cooking and sightseeing at Le Gargantua in July. Marlene and Marc were warm and friendly hosts and helped me discover lots more about the area as well as making me feel at home. The cooking was fabulous and Marlene helped me achieve more than I thought I could through her encouragement and patience. Loved Marc's... More

I spent a few days in the summer at Le Gargantua learning to make French pastries with Marlene. It was great fun and in between the cooking I did a lot of eating and drinking! Marlene and Mark were great hosts and I never felt hungry or wanted for anything. The food was plentiful and the menu for the day... More

I took my Mom to Le Gargantua for a long weekend cooking class. It was fantastic! Marlene and Marc are lovely, friendly and outgoing and do everything then can to make you feel at home. I highly recommend the cooking classes that Marlene does, she's so laid back, but makes you do EVERYTHING, so you learn a lot - it... More

I took a 6-day cooking course at Le Gargantua this September (2011) and it was absolutely and truly great. I wish I could take a month off and spend it cooking with Marlene, who knows all the "tricks" and is incredibly nice and patient with her students; listening to her British husband Marc's funny jokes; watching two pretty girls playing;... I went on a 3-day cookery course in mid Sept. Can't recommend highly enough. Exactly the right mix of relaxed/holiday atmosphere, but also learned a lot from Marlene, who is a phenomenal cook and teacher. Mark, Marlene's husband, couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Marlene gives the cookery lessons, Mark runs everything else, including producing lovely lunches.

Marlene & her husband Mark offer a very inviting environment, very comfortable & clean accomodation and best of all fantastic food served with great personality. We learnt things we didn't... More
