The hotel is near Vitoria the capital city of the Basque region. It’s an attractive building with lovely communal areas. Our bedroom was large, attractively furnished with a large bathroom. Staff were very welcoming.
We ate in the hotel restaurant – gazpacho and an entrecote steak for me. Both very good. Whilst the steak was thin it was exquisitely cooked....

We spent a weekend here thanks to a special offer, so for the price (90EUR) it wasn't bad. But the place was nothing special, and though the reception staff was extremely friendly and helpful the rest of the staff were well below standards expected from a 4star hotel. In particular the restaurant staff were terrible.
20 minutes outside Vitoria, I...

The Parador Argomaniz is a nice hotel, fully up to the Paradores standards. Expect a comfortable room, good restaurant, and excellent service. The old building, which houses the bar, restaurant and meeting rooms, is an impressive piece of architecture. However, the hotel is located in the middle of nowhere - which makes it a fine stopover but not a destination...

This was our first night of a long motorcycle trip and was really an overnight stop before hitting the Pyrennes the following day. Hotel looked a bit unprepossessing to start with but the receptionist was really friendly allowing me to stumble through my Spanish at my request and gently helping with pronunciation. Our room was lovely and airy and the...

I am a great fan of Spanish Paradors and have stayed at perhaps 25 of them. This was always one of my favourites, close to Vitoria and Bilbao in the Basque Country to the north of Spain. It is situated close to Vitoria, on a hill with great views over the surrounding countryside.
It always needed upgrading and now it...

We spent two nights in this Parador. It is close to Vitoria (15 km) by car. You need a car, because it is located in a tiny residential town with no services (bar, supermarket, nothing). So, you must take the breakfast when you book. Breakfast is superb.
The building has been refurbished recently and rooms are brandy new and full...

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this Parador in early July. We used it as an excellent base for going to the San Fermin festival in Pamplona (less than 1 hour driving on very good roads). Service at the place was impressive, the friendly and hard working people in the reception even managed to help us getting bullfighting tickets which is...

The Parador has been recently refurbished, and therefore everything feels new (from the elevators, over to the FF+E of the rooms...all feels like the typical Parador quality, which, obviously, is very good).
The service at the front desk was excellent. Probably one of the very best of all the Paradores we have stayed at (and these amount to almost 40)....

We stayed at this Parador several years ago, before the renovation, and it was charming and seemed to retain it's link to its historical past. The renovation has erased just about all traces of any history associated with the place and is now just seems like one of many reasonably nice, chain hotels. The only thing unchanged is the dining...
