We have just come back having spent 2 weeks at the Camari apartments. Clean, spacious and basic apartments. Our kettle broke after 1 day’s use and apparently nearly all the kettles were faulty (we did not get a replacement). The beds and bathroom were adequate and clean. Lovely apartments and lovely location. Away from the crowds you can really experience true cretian hospitality. Its 5 minutes walk to a lovely sheltered cove for swiming and sun bathing and make sure you sample the hospitality and food from the taverna next to the beach, its run by a local called Marco who is happy to sit and chat... Clean, spacious, friendly but remote so car hire is a must! We drove to Chania, Lake Kournas, Rethymnon. You must walk into Gerani village and have a gyros - cheap and delicious.
