We recently stayed at East Ayton lodge and on first impressions I was disappointed, the entrance area outside a bit shabby and weeds about. However, we really enjoy our stay. Staff were friendly, room was warm, clean and comfortable and any problems were sorted straight away(the tv didn't work and it was replaced). We had 2 evening meals at the... More

Don't get me wrong, had a real nice time there, staff were super friendly, however the room was just ok..but it was cold, the radiator thermostat didn't work on one of the radiators, couldn't get any hot water in the morning only luke warm, had to hold the shower handle out to get any pressure out of the shower head... I was under the impression that this was an overnight break with my husband & 2 children to celebrate my 40th birthday but on arrival found my close family & friends there as a surprise! The staff helped with gathering everyone & arranging the surprise.... More

I had booked to stay at this hotel while on a business trip last week, and was looking forward to staying somewhere new. On arrival at reception, I was given a key for room 7,so I hauled my luggage up to the room. However, I found the bath to be far from clean-with hair & some sort of insect in residence.... More

We stayed at East Ayton Lodge in December 2011 and had a lovely over-night stay.  The bar/lounge area is cosy and had a roaring wood-burner.  We enjoyed pre-meal drinks from their “country-style” bar before being invited into the elegant, linin-clad restaurant.  The food menu is extensive and would suit most tastes.  The food was fantastic value and was cooked beautifully... We have known this hotel and restaurant , then under it's original owners, since it had only three bedrooms and go back every now and then out of some kind of sentimentality. Some of the staff have been there for years and it's nice to catch up with them but no matter how much effort the staff put into their... More

We decided to have our Christmas wedding at east ayton lodge and it was the best day of our lives. From the moment we came to have a look around, we knew it was the perfect setting for our romantic day. The area and grounds were beautiful and spacious, we were able to get some stunning photographs of the local... More

Booked through laterooms and when checked in had an upgrade to a suite with four poster and lovely view over patio / lawned area. Yes there is a bit of mould in the shower area and decor a bit tired but there is a certain charm about this hotel that would encourage us to call again. Location good, only couple... More
