We stayed for a night in the Coruisk House and this was the best experience we had for many vacations. Clare is a welcoming host and we almost felt like home. Our room was furnitured with a lot of love for details. The bed is absolutely comfortable you feel like laying onto a cloud. But what is best in the... More

We were spoiled, pampered and delighted by excellent food, warm beds, great walks, wonderful views (Scotland in microscope) and the most lovable hosts on Skye. This leaves us with the best memories from Hogmanay. Catherine and Erich

We recently spent two nights at Coruisk House. The food was very expensive, London prices, but delicious, well presented and from a menu with plenty of variety. We just have one minus point. When we pay £100 per night for a room, we expect to be able to see out of the window. In our room the double glazing unit... More

We (my boyfriend and I) stayed at Coruisk House for two nights from March 26th. till March 28th, 2013, and was completely blown away by the beauty, not only of the scenery and the location, but also by the decoration and the atmosphere at the Coruisk House. Arriving, we were greated by Ian, who despite the fact that we hadn't... More

We stayed in Coruisk House during a trip to Skye in order to see the eponymous Loch nearby. However we weren't prepared for the superb food that was cooked for us by Iain (the chef patron) who, following dinner, took time to advise us on the area and the sights to see. It's an excellent spot from which to take... More

This is a belated review of one of the nicest places i've ever stayed in. I stayed there for 4 nights in april 2009. Food is amazing and the owners could not have been more friendly or helpful. I've recommended this ace to all the people i know who were traveling to Skye. The rooms are impeccable clean and the... More

We have been regular visitors to Coruisk for many years, knowing that the warm and quirky hospitality extended by the previous owners would contribute to the enjoyment of our breaks in Elgol. Our trip there last week was the second visit since new proprietors Iain and Clare took the helm. We were delighted to experience such a lovely welcome, their... More

Thank you Clare and Iain for a wonderful 3 days. It was my first trip to Skye let alone the beautiful Elgol. We hope to return before too long. Iain's food was fantastic and Clare's love of the island was infectious. Don't change too much - a "restaurant with rooms" is just what we needed.

A wonderful place to stay, Clare and Iain were wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing (thanks Iain) and the rooms were fabulous, I never normally sleep well when staying away from home but the beds were so comfy and cosy, I felt like I was at home. I will definitely be returning to Coruisk... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Coruisk House is the Restaurant with Rooms in Elgol. It is situated in the tiny but stunning fishing village of Elgol. Elgol harbour overlooks Loch Scavaig towards the most spectacular view on the Isle of Skye - towards the Cuillin Ridge. Boat trips are available from Elgol Harbour between March to October for visits to Loch Coruisk and the islands of Soay, Rum and Canna (Iain and Clare will book the boat trips for their guests). Outside of these months, and weather dependent, boat trips are available by prior arrangement but guests should enquire well in advance of their visit. The area is renowned for spectacular scenery and is beloved of photographers and artists. There are many amazingly scenic walks that can be made from the house or just a short drive away. There are two rooms for guests at Coruisk House, each with views over towards the Sleat peninsula. Each room has a king size bed (one is a four poster), en-suite shower room and tea and coffee making facilities. The rooms are tastefully furnished, the beds have soft pillows and duck down duvets and the towels are fluffy! There is a cosy residents lounge with wood-burning stove and comfortable sofas to enjoy afternoon tea or a dram from a selection of fine single malts available. There is a television in the lounge. The restaurant (also with an open fire) serves lunch and dinner all year round (by prior arrangement during December, January and February) using local produce (with a focus on seafood and highland game, although catering to specific dietary requirements with prior notice). Fresh shellfish is available having been landed daily (weather permitting) by the fishermen who leave Elgol Harbour early every morning throughout the year. Iain prepares delicious food with close attention to detail and will cater to guests specific requests if at all possible. Clare makes fresh bread daily for guests to enjoy. Afternoon tea is also available for all residents of Coruisk House. Iain and Clare greet all their guests with a warm welcome and make sure that their stay is relaxing and enjoyable in a truly stunning location. ... more   less
