We booked 2 rooms here by telephone. When we arrived we had to pay extra money as we had been incorrectly quoted!!! If you do stay don't look down the side of the mattress as you will see all kinds of evidence of previos occupants!! The back bar/disco area smells of vomit, but the bar area is very clean and... I stayed here for 2 nights (17th & 18th June) Our room was clean & roomey. I went with a group of people & saw all their rooms which were all fine. The staff were very helpful & friendly asking if we require extra towels etc. The breakfast & dinner was lovely. Full english for breakfast & carvery for dinner... More

I feel I have to give my opinion of the White Hrat in Gainsborough as I feel the last few reviews were a little unfair. We booked 10 rooms for a group of us and I have to say for the price we paid we could not have asked for more. The staff were friendly and could not do enough... More

Booked several rooms for staff and a business client as had been let down on previous booking. If could have found somewhere else we would have. Very basic accommodation, decor aged and tatty - ok if you just want somewhere to collapse for the night. Not suitable for a client or if you've had a hard day at work! shower... More

The hotel web site advertises all rooms as being en suite. This is not the case. Room 26 is a very basic room, with not even a hand basin, however, the plumbing and splash back where the wash basin was are still in situ. The towel provided was thread bare, bed extremely uncomfortable. Excellent, freshly cooked breakfast, served by a... More

This is possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Don't be fooled by the website which makes it look like a nice little coaching inn. It is run down, depressing and totally inadequate. The only redeeming feature was a happy little barmaid, but the rest of it was shocking. Room was cramped, telly had hijacked Sky on it... More

Gainsborough is a very pleasant town in Lincolnshire with an attractive river setting and a lot of rural charm. It also has ,and this was the reason for the visit,The Sands Venue which is a club with regular live music, particularly some good jazz bands where there`s an intimate atmosphere and the option of a decent meal in good surroundings. The White... More
