We would keep this place a secret if we lived in NZ, but just had to give credit to the owners for allowing us to share such a fabulous property. The cottage location is a dream, so unspoilt; and the simple yet comfortable decor completes the idyll. More

If you want a few days to recharge your batteries away from your mobile phone, TV and radio then this is the place for you. We stayed at the apartment which is part of the owners' house and it has the most wonderful view across the grass and then straight across the beach to the sea. We pushed the settee... More

If you are after beautiful solitude, then head for Curio Bay. If you want an excellent lodge type studio with all facilities, then head for this Boutique accommodation. The views were stunning, the location fantastic. Very close to the Petrified Forest, beaches with Sea Lions and Yellow-Eyed penguins, and Blue penguins nesting under the lodge! Just be aware that food... More

During our 16 days trip in NZ i think that is the most beautiful view we had! Stunning accommodation along the beach without cell phone coverage and TV. We planned initially to stay only 1 night at Curio Bay but when we discover the place we stayed 1 extra night. The studio is very well equipped and there are plenty... More

My wife and I stayed here for one night. Given that the rooms were full, we took the 3 bedroom cottage which would be perfect for a family with kids, or a group of friends. Two bedrooms, with windows onto the beach, had queen beds, and the third bedroom had two bunk beds. There was a fully equipped kitchen, a... More

We spent two nights here and it was just stunning. It is amazing being right on the beach with a pathway through the bushes to the actual sand. One night there was a penguin on the path! We heard them at night also, which was very cool. Just a 1 minute drive down the road is the parking lot for... More

We stayed in Nov 2011 for 3 nights in the apartment (which is part of the owners house). Would have booked one of the freestanding boutique apartments, but they were already taken. The apartment is a little tight for storing bags etc but otherwise great. The view out the front was mesmerising - the bay dead ahead, headland to the... More

We stayed here three nights in December and thoroughly enjoyed it. The size of the studio is quite spacious with kitchenette, dining table, couch and big bed (best bed we have ever slept in, so comfy and what a view!) and a bathroom ensuite. No TV or cell phone reception but we knew this in advance and it was quite... More

This accomodation is a little gem hidden away at the beach at sleppy Curio Bay. The room has a fabulous view of the beach, has a great comfortable bed made from rustic timber, no internet, TV or phone and good cooking facilities including a BBQ shared with the adjoining unit. The bathroom was beautifully decorated and the living area very... More

We've just returned from a 6 week bicycling tour of the entire South Island! An amazing trip! We covered over 1200 miles and were looking for COMFORT at the end of the day! This place was pure heaven! We arrived so tired and worn out and Nick and Dani were amazing! They made us feel like we'd just come home!... More
