My husband have just returned from a weekend break in The Strand Hotel. Although we were on a very special deal we were treated as very valued customers all weekend. The staff were exceptionally friendly and were always looking after our needs. The head waiter who also worked in the bar was very friendlyand attentive and could not do enough... More

We got a great deal as part of grab one and stayed for one night. Ballyliffin is a lovely quiet little place if you're looking to just get away from it all. Staff were really friendly and attentive, even management. The room was clean, bright and well furnished. My only gripe would be that the bed was quite uncomfortable. We... More

Just back from a two day break in the Strand Hotel Ballyliffin. Had been told before we went that the hotel was a bit tired and run down, and that a neighbouring hotel The Ballyliffin Lodge was much nicer. Stayed for a 2 night break in April. Staff couldn't have done more for us. Very accommodating. Comfortable rooms and beautiful food. Really resasonable price for food and drink. Handy to carndonagh for more pubs and sight seeing. Highly recommend it. Can't wait to go back! More

The rooms are basic and many fittings were broken. Not what you would expect for 100 Euro a night. We were also bitten by insects during the night.... More
