Saw this advertised in Farmhouse B&B Guide 2012 - but actually stumbled across it looking for another B&B, and very glad we did. The room decor was dark and, in my view, dated but it was clean and the bed was huge, as was the bathroom. We had dinner in the hotel on the evening of our stay and service... More

Travelled from Doncaster to the Taysdie for a surprise family birthday. The staff, especially Jo are very friendly and helpful. The kindness shown to me was exceptional when I tripped on the doorstep and damaged my ribs. Jo arranged for her husband to take us to Perth hospital and then picked us up when we had finished. The room had... More

Another stay at the Tayside hotel. The hotel is family friendly and is suitable for all types of stay! Food is great value and a good standard! Nothing is too much bother! Perfect for fishermen and woman with many a story to be heard More

Stanley isn't exactly a pretty village and the Tayside Hotel doesn't look very inviting from the outside, but don't let that put you off. Once inside you will find a comfortable bar with decent beer and friendly staff. Simple but tasty food. My colleague opted for a lightweight evening snack of macaroni cheese with a side order or chips and... More

Managed to get to this oasis of calm on a very snowy night in late November. The whole area was gridlocked and we had been stuck in traffic and worsening snowy conditions for the whole afternoon. Thanks to mobile internet, my husband was able to book a room whilst stationery in a traffic jam - yes they had a room,... More

I stayed 2 nights at the Tayside Hotel whilst on a fishing trip. I found it to be clean, comfortable, the staff friendly and the food of good quality (I am a fussy chef so that says alot!) In the evening, I even made a special request for something not on the starter menu and they were happy to oblige.... More

The Tayside Hotel is about 110 years old and is currently undergoing renovation. But don't let that chase you away. The rooms are older, but it is a great old hotel. You even get a skeleton key! The bar is great with all the ghillies talking smack at the end of a day of fishing. The staff is a great... More
