Ok, so let me say at the outset, I wasn’t expecting much. The lodge is in a National Park, so I wasn’t looking for the comforts of a standard hotel room. I did, however, for the price we paid, expect that the room would be clean, which it wasn’t, and that the property would perhaps have been refurbished since the... More

It is a great place to come with families. The cabins are close to the lake, and you see many deers. The kids have play ground, art, and kayaking. the place is better for kids under 10. We had 2 teenagers with us. They were bored after 2 days. The lodge rooms are simple but nice. They have bathrooms and... More

Travelers please keep in mind that this lodge is in the middle of Sequoia National Park and is therefore not a resort type setting. It is run by the park association. However the location is amazing. You can get anywhere in the park within the hour. Its run like a summer camp, so expect active teenagers, but fairly well-behaved. Meals... More

Superb location with great access to the National Parks. You can even do the hiking trails right from the property and leave the car for the day. The meals are buffet style with a fairly conservative selection that will appeal to all, including kids. It was such a convenience to not have to worry about eating and they'll make a... More

This place needs a lot of maintenance work done as the facilities are in quite poor condition. Additionally, while all meals are included, they are of poor quality too. A lot of potential being squandered. I think the operator does not have the capitol to keep the place in shape.

This place looks OLD from the outside. I felt like I was in the family camp from Dirty Dancing. But inside, the place is very nice. Fluffy towels, really nice shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and bath gel. We were in 127/128 (I think). The building was Lakeview and it was one of the two places upstairs. There was a very nice... We spent three days at the Montecito Sequoia Lodge and loved every minute. Beautiful vistas, great activities, wonderful food (and all you can eat...) I thought it would be rustic so I brought shampoo and hair dryer - but no need. These are provided. Comfortable bed, plush bath towels. A great vacation spot for the active hiker or someone who... Very basic wooden lodges with very squeeky floorboards. I don't know which was more surprised or frightened by the mouse hiding in the corner of our room. Ignoring (if you can) the mouse the room and bedding was clean. The price was inclusive of evening meal and breakfast, the food was buffet style and perfectly adequate and wholesome.

My husband and I spent one night here at the lodge. I'm not sure what I expected, but the lodge itself is old and very casual. The common areas, dining room and fireplaced activities room had a very casual feel, there were books on the shelves that you could borrow, board games, ping pong and foozeball. Everything was help yourself.... More
