really surprised to see so many negatives here....geriatrics? where? Its true there are not many beautiful young 20 somethings lounging around...though there are some! The hotel is exquisite in old colonial style... We love to dress for dinner and have cocktails in the glorious bar...and yes, the Pringles and peanuts are a nod to another era, but it works! It... The beautiful grounds of the Coral Reef Club belie the unfortunate mediocrity evident after checking in. There is a pronounced overall emphasis on geriatric appeal, including an elaborate lunchtime buffet with a pianist playing such chestnuts as "Feelings." In a nod to the 21st century, there is a gym, so called, which consists of various machines crammed into a small,... More

We note that you complimented our beautiful gardens of which we're very proud, thank you. With regards to your other comments, we wish to respond and please understand that we are always glad to have any type of comments from which to continue to improve Coral Reef. We do, as you say, have an 'elaborate'l unchtime buffet (along with a... More

Just read a few recent (2012) reviews and unsuprisingly 4&5 stars are the trend, Stayed in April 2010, 2011, and returning in April this year. If you want understated quality like minded people, excellent food and service then its a must visit. We upgradred to a Plantation suite last year and have re booked the same suite. The view is... We have just come back from 10 days at the Coral Reef. Cannot fault the hotel but newcomers must be warned that there is an 87% take up of previous clients. Therefore if you are one of the 13% as we were life can be rather strange. Front of house were often rude and unhelpful. If you don't know the... More

We had high expectations of this Hotel from the reviews on this site. We were looking forward to a relaxing sunshine break in January. The Property is beautiful & the Room up to scratch but no TV (must have missed that one on the brochure). However, the food is average and having to book tables every day is tedious. There... More

I know Barbados well and have visited it many times during the past many years. Many would agree that Coral Reef Club is head and shoulders above the other hotels with spacious accommodation set out in private villas through well landscaped gardens. The staff is made up of employees who have served at the hotel for many years and the... More

This was our second trip to The Coral Reef Club and will not be our last. It truly was heaven. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were looked after by attentive friendly staff. Our room was delightful ( and one of the cheapest),enormous and very well equipped I agree that the best tables in the... More

Stayed here for 5 days at beginning of jan. Stayed in a luxury suite - 1 bed, lounge and terrace with plunge pool. Room was decent standard/size/clean. Service was very mixed - front desk and bar great and restaurant at nite very good - restaurant at lunch was awful. It was a debate every day over which table you could... More

Just returned from 3 nights at this 12 acre lush resort . We decided to spend a few days in Barbados after a cruise. The grounds are beautifully manicured , with many different buildings on the large property. It is owned and managed by the Ohara family, who also own Sandpiper, which is not far away. The room was large,... More

After a cruise, we disembarked on Barbados to stay several nights at Coral Reef Club. My 6th time staying on this lovely island. 2012 will mark the 60th year that the O'Hara family has owned this classic, and it is better than ever. Over the years they have expanded and updated, but always true to its origins, which are spacious... More
