We had a lovely experience here. The view speaks for itself and the staff made sure all our needs were met. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. The shower had great pressure and the outside porch with the refrigerator was perfect. The breakfasts were fresh and delicious. Most importantly the concierge was very helpful with ideas of things to do and made sure all our needs were met. It was a great week.

Hotel Amaudo has still a spectacular view, 2 beautiful pools and very nice and helpful attendants at breakfast. We have been very loyal to them since 2016 and went every year except during the pandemic. Unfortunately this year, we had a poor experience. We made a reservation for a Premium room for 2, which means large room with large bathroom. We always choose this category, and in the past years, we always enjoyed a beautiful room with a king size bed and a sitting area, and a sizable bathroom. This year, we were assigned a small room with a very small bathroom with the toilet almost in the shower, at the price of a Premium room. And the gutter outside was just in front of our room, it was very noisy because of the strong tropical rain at night, not mentioning that the trash bins for the hotel were on the side of this room. The front desk was totally unresponsive: “ they could not reach out to the management” and “ the management decided it was considered a Premium room”or “you did not ask for a specific room number”. We felt cheated and we won’t go back. We just advise guests making a reservation to be very clear they don’t want room 11 and if you want a Premium room, ask for room 12 or 14 or for a additional few dollars an even bigger room, room 15 and you should have a bliss.

A lovely spot with beautiful views. The hotel staff is super friendly. The room was spacious and very comfortable. We upgraded rooms and had a pool that was shared with 4 rooms but we were the only ones in it. The grounds are lovely. We would definitely recommend this hotel. A true gem!

A few days before departure, we had to cancel our reservation due to a serious health problem. We have found out that, at the time of reservation, there had been a misunderstanding about cancellation fees. A couple of emails allowed to clarify the situation and they offered a full rembursement of the amount paid. We believe that their behaviour has been really fair and we take pleasure in reporting it in our review. We hope we will be able to visit Guadalupe soon and, for sure, the Amaudo will be our hotel.

Extraordinary hotel with excellent service. The staff is very friendly and professional. Attentive to detail. We liked the hotel so much that we ended up staying 2 more days instead of going to another hotel. Un hôtel vraiment extraordinaire. Le personnel est très gentil et professionnel avec une attention particulière aux petits détails. Nous avons adoré. Bravo

Stephanie who worked the front desk was amazing! She gave great check in instructions because we arrived after 10pm. The room was big, spotless, plenty of hot water and water pressure, quality bedding and beach towels, coffee service in room, refrigerator and microwave in room. Housekeeping was amazing - perfect daily services. Pool was nice- but not heated, so cool in April. Only downside is that our room was next to the kitchen so we heard everyone at breakfast. The walls are a little thin, but everyone was mostly quiet and respectful of noise. Not a big deal to us because we had activities scheduled and we’re not sleeping in, but if you want to sleep in, you need a room away from breakfast area.

The setting was magnificent with a private balcony and tropical gardens. there was an outdoor kitchen area with a microwave and fridge. The staff was very helpful, especially Stephanie, who was so patient and friendly. The only negative was that we had to drive everywhere: no shops, beaches, restaurants within walking distance. A map showing nearby businesses would have been most helpful as we had never been there before.

Beautiful setting. The pools and views are stunning, but I think it was a different hotel before the pandemic. The breakfast was disappointing, no bar area, you can't even buy bottled water. It is just a hotel. If you are after solitude in a beautiful setting, then The Amaudo is for you.

Having read all the reviews of this hotel I was expecting great things. And some were absolutely incredible. The rooms and the setting of this hotel is outstanding and very little compares to anywhere else Ive stayed. However i was underwhelmed by the breakfast and the lack of general facilities ie getting lunch or a drink on site. Everything like this required a 3 mile journey which become an inconvenience. I eventually became to realize this place as the most beautiful apartment you could ever stay in. But a hotel, as i understand them, this it’s not.

For the second part of our Guadeloupe trip, we moved hotels from one in Trois Rivières to The Hotel Amaudo so as to experience the eastern side of the island. Wish we had moved sooner. The room was immaculate, tastefully decorated, had everything we needed (including a fridge, safe, dishes, silverware, etc), and opened up to a private infinity pool with a stunning view of the bluest of waters. What made the hotel special, though, were the people working there. Without exception, we were met with warms smiles and friendly greetings, whether at the tasty breakfast, reception, bringing us extra towels or just walking around the beautiful grounds. I had a bit of a medical issue that needed immediate attention, and Philippe, the owner, personally spent 30 minutes working the phones with his assistant trying to find a doctor who could see me (no small feat, as it was lunchtime and everything closes in Guadeloupe in the early afternoon). Philippe was not only attentive, he was engaging and personable as we shared travel histories. Really an excellent stay. Thank you the Hotel Amaudo!
