My husband and I chose Anse Chastenet for our honeymoon and loved every minute of it. The food was excellent, the staff were friendly and the room was extremely comfortable and spacious. We spent a bit more for a more well appointed room and ours was 7B Citronella - it has a lovely big terrace with loungers and dining table... More

it's going to be hard for me to put my trip to Anse chastanet into words but i'll try. I can start off by saying the grounds are beautiful and the staff are the loveliest kindest people to be around. If you are not into the BIG commercial cookie cutter resorts, than this is the RIGHT place for you. Pure... More

We were day visitors in search of a day snorkelling the reef. The reef itself was staggering both in its beauty but also its accessibility. The resources for non-residents involved an entirely disproportionate deposit for snorkelling gear but was returnable. What we were more disappointed by was that although the beach looked like something designed for a holiday brochure cover... More

Very private and well kept resort. Dive center staff was excellent and diving was fun. Enjoyable for relaxation, not a high energy spot but good for couples/friends getaway. A 5-7 day trip is about right, would go back for a second vacation!

The lovely location cannot quite disguise what is a pretty average hotel. Expect the accommodation to be acceptable but not luxurious, the service to be laid back and friendly rather than especially efficient, and the isolated location to bring a pricing regime that reflects both the tourist cost structure of the island and the lack of easily accessible nearby competition.... Part of a family of four - my 4th time and my parents 6th and yet it was the best holiday I've ever been on! The Best Bits: -the staff - having recently been to Antigua where we had problems with rude staff I was anxious to see if they would yet again be as friendly as ever! Peter is... More

We were after barefoot luxury and our Carribean travel specialist said this is the only hotel to look at. A friendly welcome and cocktail greeted us at the upper terrace bar- staff are particularly friendly despite a few letting the standard down. Our room was huge with an incredible view of the pitons - quite stunning with no windows -... More

We only stayed one night, but what a great place. We loved the unique octagonal room, the bed with the mosquito net, the fantastic beach with grass huts and free snorkeling, scuba diving, and water taxi. The bathroom was great, the bed was comfy, the view out the window was incredible--Petit Piton RIGHT THERE, with Gros Piton just behind it.... More

We stayed here after spending 3 days at Ladera. At Ladera, there was no beach, but we had a spectacular view of the Pitons. Here we had excellent access to the beach. We enjoyed paddle boarding, snorkeling, and sun bathing. At the Manager's Welcome Reception held on every Tuesday, we were able to get a table on the beach and... More

We only managed a couple of lunches at this wonderful hotel, but it is still a firm family favourite. The menue has altered, becoming mroe expentsive and the Sunday buffet was devine. The staff are really welcoming and the service was very good on both trips. While people seem to not like the rather rough drive to get down to... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Tranquility, Romance, Adventure: What were Caribbean hotels like when you sat watching the sunset instead of cable TV? You can still find that Classic Caribbean at Anse Chastanet on St. Lucia’s quiet southwestern coast where two magical peaks, the Pitons, leap from the sea and the mountains are covered with luminous greenery.Architect owner Nick Troubetzkoy believes passionately in nature. So he created a hotel that makes the foliage and the flowers, the perfumes and the peaks, the sea and the bird song an integral part of your vacation experience. The estate encompasses 600 lush tropical acres bordering two soft sand beaches. The resort’s two crystal-clear bays are part of a designated marine reserve protecting miles of colorful coral reefs teeming with tropical fish. With such a unique setting as his canvas, Nick Troubetzkoy was inspired to design a one -of-a-kind resort. A dozen rooms are tucked in behind the coconut palms that line the beach and the remainder tip toe up a flower decked hillside, taking advantage of the captivating scenery all around. Anse Chastanet’s ever growing art collection provides a visual feast of its own. There are impressive wooden sculptures and plaques, earthy burlap compositions, painted “sky ceilings” and vibrant acrylic paintings invoking memories of Matisse and Picasso. And while the sensuous seclusion of the rooms provides some guests with the perfect excuse for lolling away the day on the balcony, others head out to partake in the many activities on offer; yoga, snorkeling, scuba diving, tennis, sunset sailing, sea kayaking or jungle biking, hiking and bird-watching among the ruins of an 18th century colonial plantation. ... more   less
