Our best holiday ever - two weeks of being at one with nature, people and place. Warm, unassuming efficiency and generosity from Porridge, Jeanelle, Shaq, and Rebecca made everything perfect. We've already booked for next year!

April 2012. We loved Castara Retreats-and staying in a real Caribbean community. This is a great location for people who like to get away from the tourists and are relaxed about their vacation experience. We stayed in Hummingbird 1, which has fantastic views. Specifically, here is what I liked about Castara Retreats. I like staying in places that are open...

You needn't think twice about booking this place- just do it, you'll love it! Porridge and his son were fantastic, so helpful and so nice. The accommodation was wonderful with views of the ocean as far as the eye can see. We stayed in Birdsong which has no less than four private balconies upon which you can follow the sun...

We spent a wonderful 10 days at Castara Retreat at the end of January this year, staying for the first 2 nights Hummingbird 1. The view from the veranda with it’s large comfy sofa, and from the bedroom through the wide open shutters, is fabulous, a wide sweep of beach, and the sea to infinity. We stayed at Coasthangar for...

time to pick us up, made us feel very welcome, and was especially accomodating
with his car hire, as we needed to drop the car in Crowne Point after a stay...

As a female solo traveler who loves off the beaten track kinds of places, Castara Retreats was the perfect find. Although there is no real security that i'm aware of, the locks are good, and most importantly, the place is always booked, so I never felt that I was in any type of danger. I stayed in Hummingbird 1, and...

A lot has been written about Castara so we were really look forward to it, but it exceeded our expectations.
Porridge was indeed remarkable, very kind and happy to help/advise us on where to go and what to see.
The village scene was excellent...and the accommodation just wonderful and everything we had hoped for. It is hard to tear yourself...

My husband and I needed a complete relax but only had one week of holiday so instead of our usual three flights, one light aircraft then overloaded god forsaken ferry trip to the outer reaches of no-where we decided on Tobago as it has direct flights from the UK.
To be fair this review needs to be in three parts;...
