Kang Travellers Lodge is a good place to stay if you want to meet people and if you're on a budget. They have private rooms and dorms. We payed 38RM for a double. Our room was very small - it had two twin beds, one table and that's it. Also there was hardly room for the luggage. Because the "window"... More

I stayed on the recommendations of a few friends. Was as I expected. It is a basic place but then it's also very fairly priced for what you get - I paid about £8 a night for a double room with en-suite bathroom. But, what I didn't expect was a pick- up from the bus station. Nice surprise! My room... More

We turned up and were able to book a twin room for a few nights. The staff at reception were fine, although nothing more. The room was small and simple. Just a bed, bedside table and a fan. The windows were bug-proof. Toilets and showers were very basic and somewhat unclean at times. Drinks in the bar were at a... More

I Quite liked this place. They always worked hard to keep it clean. It was comfortable, the wi fi always worked and there was tea and coffee at reception. The Indian lady that ran the place was always friendly and helpful. She was happy to give her time with anything you requested. I also took their organized tour to the... More

We stayed in Daniel's Lodge for a week and loved it. We can really recommend it and are surprised about the negative comments of other users. Yes, it is basic. But it is really cheap and this is one of the best value we had in SE Asia (and for sure in Malaysia). Rooms and bathrooms are clean, the staff... More

Daniels Lodge was certainly one of the more social hostels we stayed in with a large open common area and a seperate jungle bar with a firepit open to the elements. It is located close to shops and restuarants in Tanah Rata and to the bus station. However the private rooms are dark, with windows onto the corridor and lots... More

We arranged a tour with Kang's tour and they recommended we stay here at their affiliated hotel. When you get here the english girl at the counter tries to sell you more stuff for Kang's tour and then you get your room. The rooms were so musty and smelly it was hard to breathe and the beds and sheets really... More

We stayed here a few weeks ago and had a brilliant time! We'd only booked for 2 nights but stayed for 6! The staff were kind and helpful, it made such a difference having backpackers working there alongside the Malay staff! The AMERICAN guy who owned said hammock was really friendly, great fun to chat to while relaxing on the... More

Recently stayed there for a few days, went off word of mouth from other backpackers in langkawi, great fun, but... On the first night we got invited to sit with one of the staff and his sister on the couch in the communal area and they took us into town town and showed us where to eat. Really friendly people,... It's cheap, the area near reception is nice for sitting and reading etc. The lady working there is very nice, helpful and 'with it'. Had a bad experience though last night. Dorm beds are in the attic, over ten in one room. There is no air. In an adjoining room, a guy passed out and fell out of bed. The... More
