An affordable, well maintained older motel with a good location on Mar de Cortez ( Sea of Cortez St ). The room we stayed in this time was a King, last year a Queen. Both rooms where clean and basic with TV and AC. Nothing fancy. Maids always give me extra towels when I ask. Remember maids are paid poorly... More

I've been to dozens of economical hotels in Mexico, and didn't mind this one's lumpy matresses, or even the wild Ranchero Fiesta in our parking lot between 2:00 and 4:00 in the morning, but i did take exception to the food floating in the pool and on the pool lounge chairs, and the maid going into my room and helping... Its a safe place, excellent service from the restaurant, and check in. On the other hand they do inforce a bracellet on some of the guests and not all.. why? i never got a straight answer.... They are pet friendly... and will allow dogs in to the pool... i am sorry but with small children this is a big no-no...... More

This could be two reviews, one compared to what your used to, and one compared to what you'll find in san felipe. The outside grounds are kept clean and it has an appearance like any economy motel you've seen in the middle of nowhere on some long road trip, the rooms are small, the beds....well again, mabe not what your... I enjoyed my stay at the El Capitan, and the restaurant there is great food and reasonable priced, with great service and attention. Room was little pricey, as I expected little less cost, food there made it even out. Basic type room, with large shower. Brochure is pictured exactly as what is available. One block from beach and Malecon. Made... More

I have been riding into San Felipe on dirt bikes for 20 years and have stayed at El Capitan for most of those. You have to remember this is Baja and things are a little rustic. We have always had; clean room, hot water, lights and TV. Restaurant is good but we always either grase for dinner or El Nido... More

VERY basis hotel. No phones, no lamps. Overhead lights. NO hot water. Barely warm both at night and in the morning. Let it run for 10 minutes and still no change. This is in chilly weather. Bed sheets were clean, floors and bathrooms clean. Personally think that $70 a day is too much for this hotel. Good location for walking... More
