Our large family traveled here for a vacation in the past. At that time, I was Melia Azul and pathetic. Because this facility has changed its name, all of the old reviews are gone - too bad - that would have deterred you more. Some of my family members are fluent in spanich and had no problem understanding what they... More

I always read reviews on trip advisor but have never written about my own opinions on a resort that I've been too. We just got back from Azul Ixtapa which was April 10th, 2012. After reading some of the bad reviews people put on here I'm very surprised cause I saw none of it. The service was excellent, you couldn't... More

The negative reviews are surprising. There was a common thread, both complained about being around Nationals. This is a wonderful place. The food was good and the drinks were plentiful and generous. We have noticed an increase in travel by Nationals in Mexico and think it a welcome change. Tour of the ruins at La Chole was great. More

Just back from a fabulous vacation at the Azul Ixtapa. Upon check in we were told they had bad news and good news, which is never fun to hear after an exhausting flight. The bad news was the only room they had for us was on the 2nd floor, the good news was that it was a junior suite, which... More

We traveled at the end of March and right before our trip we found out that Melia is no longer part of Azul. Upon arriving, the hotel staff ensured us they were making improvements and they chose not to be part of Melia any longer. Not so sure about that. All I saw was cost cutting on their end. All... WOW, service, service, service, wherever you go in this hotel, you are looked after. From the childcare facilities to the pool side waiters. The food is good, not the best, but there is always something. My kids (2&3) always found something to eat including the ice cream that isnt with the desserts but just ask the waiter and they will... This hotel is no longer called melia. When we arrived on march 23 the hotel name was changed. Once we got there I new I would not like this resort. We went to our room with our luggage and the room was ok with ocean view rooms, but when we started to walk around the resort it was all local... More

This hotel was horrible. We were hoping this would like all the other all-inclusive mexican vacations we have taken. We were so wrong. This hotel was 95% locals that were sold their rooms at a discounted rate. The food at this hotel was terrible at best! We went to dinner one night and ended up taking a cab to get... More

We are a family of four who visited the Melia Azul Ixtapa in Jan 2010. We had a fantastic holiday. Hotel: Great service and amenities. Staff were friendly and pleasant. Excellent decor and very clean. Beach: Nice. Very swimmable. Dark sand with sparkling mica in it and big waves at times, but it is in a bay so not rough.... More

As a family, we go to all inclusive resorts twice a year. This was a trip for my husbands 50th b-day. It could not have been more perfect. All rooms r ocean view, the food (which I am VERRRRY picky about) was awesome, the room n resort were very clean, n the service was amazing. The only downside was that... More
