Hotels around the main plaza in Guanajuato are expensive, but Hotel Embajadoras is about 3/4 of mile away, on Parque Embajadoras, and is very adequate. It's an older hotel with carpets, (my main complaint) but you can't beat the price, nor location. Hotel is extremely quiet, even during the hysterical Cervantino Festival. Make reservations early for that festival.

My husband and I just returned from two nights in Guanajuato at the Hotel Embajadoras. We stayed there because we knew Guanajuato and liked the location and price of the rooms. We wrote ahead and asked for a room with two beds and no carpet as we both have allergies. Our room (#13) was large with two comfortable beds and...

This hotel was recommended by a friend living in Guanajuato. After reading the reviews here I was unsure, but ended up enjoying my stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My room was quite clean and comfortable. The location is great, close enough to walk or ride to downtown in minutes, and far enough away to be quiet at...

This hotel has seen better days. The first room we were shown was unclean, complete with a scorpion on one of the drapes, probably due to broken screens on the windows. The next room was passable but just barely and only since it was 10 at night and we were exhausted after 12 hours of travel.

On the outside it looks ok, like a colonial hotel, but the carpets are really really dirty, under the beds is even worst, bathroom smells funny and is really small, sheets were old, tv only with two channels, lamp was not working it was a really dark room.

After reading previous reviews, we were hesitant about coming here, but came to check it out anyway. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the hotel grounds. We ordered a room with two "matrimonial (double)" beds after seeing it. It was roomier than normal hotels of the same class. The room was clean although it has carpeting. The floor...

Last time I was at this hotel it was 20 years ago and it was far better than it is today. The rooms are in serious need of remodelling. They have stuck industrial carpeting that is DISGUSTINGLY dirty on the floors (and no the maids don't have vacuums). The rooms smell of mold and stale air. The bathrooms are gross...

I've stayed here a few times. There are nicer, more central, more "full-service" places to stay in this lovely city, but they can cost twice the price or more. This is a pleasant hotel, located a 15-minute walk (5 minutes by bus -- 4 pesos -- or taxi -- 20 pesos) from the Jardín Union. It's right on the Plaza...

We didn't actually stay in the hotel, but ate in the restaurant a number of times. The hotel is very attractive, with flowers in the courtyard and a very pretty dining room. The service was great and the food good. One morning we ate breakfast watching the hummingbirds hovering near the flowers. People who were staying there seemed to be...
