Just stayed here over the weekend, and it's certainly a unique property in Mexico City. A nice change from our usual hotels along Reforma and in the upscale Polanco area. If you want to experience the historic center of the city and the main square, it's a great place to stay, especially if you spend a bit more for the... More

This is a great location, and a beautiful hotel. The front desk was very helpful, e.g. at my request, they got me tickets to Ballet Folklorica. SPECIAL COMMENDATION for Conceirge Jose Luis Valadez. The whole Centro Historico was closed down for Labor Day, and we had to meet our ride to Puebla. Mr. Valadez telephoned our ride/guide, then walked with... More

Stayed here on our last two nights of a trip driving around Mexico. It's a lovely hotel, fantastic lobby area. There was an offer to upgrade to a master suite, and it was a great room with a view of the Zocalo. When we settled in we noticed some things were not working: the hair dryer kept turning off, the... We had a great time here. The hotel is extremely beautiful and it is situated in the heart of the city with easy access to all the transportation needs. The staff was always very attentive and courteous . All our requests were met (we had tickets purchased, tours arranged and taxis requested). All our questions were answered and recommendations given... More

Like many of the other reviews of this property, the attraction here is the ornate and decorative neo-classicial building with the truly amazing stained glass vaulted main ceiling, charming wrought iron cage elevators, marble floors, and staircases to the upper floors. My room was spacious and overlooked the Zocalo Plaza on a upper floor; despite air conditioning in the rooms,... More

We stayed for a total of 4 nights, one spell of 3 and then a return overnight. The first suite was large and well appointed, although we did not overlook the Zocalo. The hotel is well preserved Art Deco and like a trip into the past to enter. The traffic noise and nightclub noise is rather high, but you are... More

This is a beautiful Art Deco hotel situated across the Zocalo in the Heart of the historic district. The service and staff were excellent however travelers should be advised of the following. The hotel is not handicap accessible. The entrances off of the street have two flights of marble stairs just to get into the lobby area and the rooftop... More

We stayed in a suite overlooking Zocolo. We were warned from other reviews of the noisy flag ceremonies, but there was some sort of festival on with loudspeakers and endless noise, you could feel the bass in your stomach. But they were great, and immediately upgraded us to a bigger suite at the back. Old world charm, like something out... More

We appreciate your comments and feel pleased to know you appreciated the alternative provided. Luckily the event you describe rarely happens so the noise almost never reaches the scale you mention. However we are always prepared to offer our guests alternatives so they can fully enjoy their stays with us. We feel also very pleased to know you enjoyed our... More

Situated in the historical centre of Mexico City, this is a great place to stay. This hotel is over a hundred years old and is extremely elegant and a joy to stay in. The staff are attentive and polite. In particular, the concierge staff are really helpful. If you avail yourself of the hotel food you will find it very... More

Thank you very much. Indeed our hotel is located in the historical center of Mexico City, which is a mainly tourist area. Our hotel is surrounded by major museums, decorated in a traditional Art Nouveau style, and with a landscape view of the National Palace; which is why it is an excellent choice for the tourists who wish to get... The hotel looked absolutely beautiful , the rooftop restaurant was awesome too and cheap. The service was good and the staff at the reception were very helpful. The hotel is in the middle of the city and it can be a little noisy, but we didn't think that it was a problem. We liked that we could walk to the... More
