I stayed at the Camino Real in Mexico City just for 1 night, as I had missed my connection and had to leave the next day. It was a good enough stay. The front desk staff that checked me in was very pleasant..David and the bell man as well. The bed was comfy, there was a variety of channels on... More

The Camino Real may have won architectural awards in the past, but it is now dowdy, outdated and rough around the edges. In addition, the layout is a labyrinth, especially irksome if you get a distant room. I've had much better experiences at W and the Four Seasons, and stayed here only because it was also the site of an event... More

It is well located "in" Mexico city, though it looks much more like a small resort, rather than a city hotel. Very spacious rooms, high standard housekeeping, polite staff, efficient service. Not very big, but quite ok gym (cardio, free weights, machines, well organized) and - again - not very big pool (for lapping) but fair. I could have a... More

This is an outstanding hotel with large well appointed rooms and world class restaurants! The decor is modern and open. The staff has been very helpful in giving advice on the "where and how" on getting around the city. Camino Real Polanco has been a pleasant find on this business trip! More

I didn't know what the big deal was with an architect designed hotel, and to my surprise, the elegant environment of Camino Real Polanco made a huge difference. It's a big hotel, catering to large conferences and meetings, and I was there for a meeting which required lots of delicate negotiation. What surprised me was how much the environment made... More

There are so many problems with this hotel that I hardly know where to start. I agree with the other reviewers that this hotel thinks it is better than it is, and therefore they really don’t try to provide service. The manager Alma, is rude, not interested in serving the public and doesn’t listen. When there was confusion about my... More

I found this hotel to be very large, impersonal and expensive.  I know this hotel was built by a famous Mexican architect but I found it to be straight out of the 70s and totally outdated.    The hallways were full of loud people at late hours of the night.  The courtesy breakfast was lame and the restaurant had zero... First time I stay at this hotel, booked through their website and chosen because of location and reasonable rates. Absolutely the worst mistake we could have made. Although check-in was quick, both of our rooms had huge problems due to the run-down state of the accomodations; sure enough, the lobby and public areas are reasonably kept so one has no... More

On my first visit to Mexico City in 1998, the Camino Real was beyond the expense accounts of mere international bureaucrats, but I have fond memories of a dinner there, comprising Mexican specialties and the world’s best Margharita. In fact two of the latter, which may have been one more than optimal. Thus, I was pleased to be booked in... More
