This hotel has a great location, one block from the hotel zone where the Hyatt (Nikko) and JW Marriott are located. It is also a block away from Lincoln Park. Although A/C is not necessary because of the cool climate in Mexico City, I had to leave some windows open overnight to keep the room from getting too stuffy. The... More

Upon arrival, one might wonder what you had booked into. A small barren entrance lobby; but the staff were efficient and upon entering the room, you saw a renovated suite, which was clean and adequate. The ratings given represent an opinion of a 3 star hotel. It has no airconditioning, but has fans. It was not hot when I was... More

The hotel´s location is great and the staff is very nice as well...But it does need a renovation: towels were old, with spots. Sofas in the rooms, the same. And if you get a room at the first floor, ust pray to don´t be the one just over the restaurant . The breakfast is a joke: a muffin and a... More

Ive stayed over for one night only, was upgraded to a penthouse full of amenities and space. In suite bathroom was excellent even had a nice jacuzzi. Only two big NO's: No A/C - too hot, only 2 ventilators. Windows don't open more than 40cm Also, they sell the rate with a continental breakfast included however this consists on a... More

Casa Castelar is more of a serviced apartment option than a traditional B&B, and it probably suits better the business traveller. Nevertheless, it's a good option to hotels in the Polanco area, with clean and modern, albeit small, rooms. Customer service can be patchy, but the location is fantastic; within walking distance to attractions, restaurants and bars, as well as... More

The best thing going for Casa Castelar is its location which is truly second to none. There are loads of eateries, restaurants and cafes in the vicinity, excellent shopping, and Chaputelpec around the corner. The hotel itself is nothing to rave and rant about. This low key property with very friendly staff could do with a mini facelift. Sheets are... More
