Guy from the hotel found us on the bus station. It was supposed to be a room with bathroom and breakfast. He didn't mention that they have no idea about cleaning the bathroom - we could smell urine. The staff had a great fun in the middle of the night in the lobby and it was impossible to sleep. And... More

Not normally one for writing hostel reviews I felt compelled to in an effort to warn fellow travellers actually how awful this place is. I agree with all the other reviews here (except the few which say ANYTHING positive about this hell hole) and can easily counter planet hostals promotional leaflet which states 5 good reasons to stay here with... We only went here because our bus arrived really early in the morning and they paid for a taxi to take us to the hostel and we were too tired to find somewhere else. The guys who ran the place were really sleezy - they kept touching us needlessly and they were always hogging the computers. Our bathroom really smelt... More

The hostel was ok, but it wasn't exactly what you're looking for travelling as a backpacker. It was cheap, but the sheets were awful, old and with holes, I used my sleepin bag. Everything was a bit used and dirty. But the worst of all was the staff, there were 3 boys working (working...?) always using the computers, putting music... More

I really enjoyed staying at this hostel, it is not the cleanest but it is cheap, they pay for your taxi from the bus stop to the hostel, the help you to organize trips within san cristobal and around and give good advice on things to do, free use of internet is great and I met some amazing people here,... You can get a better accommodation for this price in San Cristóbal. I spent two nights in a room with a private bathroom. I preferred to sleep in my own sleeping bag - the bedlinen may have not been actually dirty but it was so old that there were spots all over it that probably wouldn't wash out. On the... More

I may not be a typical backpacker, as I'm a middle-aged woman travelling on her own. However, I went to Planet Hostel with an open mind and tried to like it. The good things are: the cook -he's lovely - and ONE of the guys at reception. That'sit! The bad things: shared bathroom was rank, the internet was turned off at... More

If you want to avoid mould on the walls, stay away from this hostel. The room doesn't seem to be cleaned. The bathroom is dirty and there is a long hair hanging from the lamp. The owners are pretty ignorant and lazy, too. They were spending most of the time on facebook on the pc's which supposed to be for... More

At first glance this place looks nice,it's cheap and in a good location ,they pay for ur cab to the hostel... But they have a serious problem with mould! We had a private room with a bathroom ,the bathroom was really mouldy and the room smelt very damp which we didn't notice when we first arrived. The kitchen is tiny... More
