We really enjoyed our stay at the Santo Tomas. At first, seeing the listing, I was afraid it was too far out of town. However, it's only a block or so beyond the Museo/Hotel Na Balom. It has very secure and easy parking access; the rooms are very well-appointed with nice decorator touches; and each room has a well-designed fireplace...
