Grand Lagoon Awful I stayed at this place based upon the reviews on Trip Advisor. Big Mistake. The small refrigerator had a bashed in ice section and all the racks in it were rusted. There were no lamps on the bed stands just a round florescent light bulb in the ceiling which made it difficult to read in bed. Mold... More

I stayed for one night after getting a late flight into Cancun before leaving for Playa del Carmen the next morning. Late check in was quick. I upgraded to a room with balcony for $10(total $52us) The room was nothing special...basic but comfortable. A couple of beds, chairs, table. Small kitchenette that I didn't use. Shower was GREAT. Hot and... More

Feeling cocky about all the other TripAdvisor reviews that helpd us have a Great vacation, maybe my expectations were set to high. Like, non-frayed electrical wires, working smoke alarms, or walls that didn't look like they just survived an earthquake. Everyone that reviewed this hotel well - did we stay at the same place? The staff was churlish and made... More

My GF and I spent a week here. The rooms with a balcony are the best and well worth the $10 more per day. We were in Room 434. It has a refrigerator and little stove. The staff was very helpful. The daily free breakfast was simple and good - eggs or pancakes. Sandwiches, groceries and great Mexican food a... More

I stayed at the Grand Royal Lagoon for 2 nights in late January 2011. I booked this hotel because I wanted a cheap place to stay in Cancun so I could make an easy pick-up for a tour to Chichen Itza. My final destination was Isla Mujeres, but it would have been too much trouble to make the Chichen Itza... More

We arrived in Cancun after reading these reviews but not booking a hotel anywhere. We arrived and took the ADO bus from the airport to the downtown Cancun bus station. From there we walked accross the street o get the address for this hotel on the McDonalds free wi-fi. We were able to step back out the door and grab... More

We scoured the web for good rates over New Year's. Most of the all-inclusives right on the beach were out of our range, but this place was a short walk away and super-cheap. So cheap, in fact, that we were a bit worried. We got to the hotel and checked in. Our reservation through hotels.com was in their computer, which... More

Stayed in Cancun and then the Yucatan for a week. My last night was at the Hilton, my first night was at this hotel. The Hilton might as well be tied to a rock this hotel passed it so completely. Yes, the bed was hard but clean with great pillows, shower had great pressure and a big shower area. Room... More

This hotel isn't quite in the hotel zone and it's about 2km from the nightclub zone. It is close to the lagoon and you can get quite good views with some rooms. It is cheap for the location but the room was very noisy. The man on reception at night was also rude. The room was clean and the cleaner... More

This hotel was amazing for what it is. First off, I am well traveled all over the globe and I've stayed in five star resort hotels that were more than $1,000 a night, and I've stayed in hostels that were $15.00 a night. For $40.00 bucks this is hard to beat. When I travel I like to adventure and go... More
